Here's the baby I wanted - if I miss out on this one, then I may just keep my M3 for a bit as I anything I'll buy will only ever be compared to this and I doubt many could live up to it (for the price)...

PS I'd change the GT3 badge back to carrera

How about allowing test drives on the BMW if they provide proof of fully comprehensive insurance for your car?

They could arrange that through their own insurer for a day or through one of the plethora of online companies offering day cover.

I would have thought most people would want to try a car for themseleves before spending nearly £19k on it - at least I know I would.
Sounds like a good idea - I'll amend accordingly.

So TheGoose - give me a figure and let my dreams be realised!
I wouldn't even buy a shed of the week candidate if the seller told me I could only be a passenger, no one is going to spend nearly £20K on a private sale vehicle without driving it first.

Did the doctor you bought it off let you drive it?

IMO a little less aggressive advert might help, as this will probably put potential buyers off.

I have 18inch carrera classics on my boxster but i've never thought they look right on a 911 with an aerokit, no aerokit they look fine. That looks like a tarted up old car, i would avoid personally.

Just read the advert for the M3,possibly just a tad aggressive IMHO. If I were as desperate as your posts make you appear to be, I would have a rethink...

Perhaps 99% of the spiel after the service history account....Get the buyer interested before you start laying down the LAW. As the AD reads at present your putting people off even before they pick up the phone!

Hang on, which wheels do you want (ideally), the GT3 style or the Carrera Classics?

Hi, Im about to go for a 996, I know the feeling everyone must get for their first Porsche but I am not going to rush to sell my 2001 RS11 Evo.

The car I have an option on is a 2001 (Y) 996 and has 22k on miles, leather pack (inc dash) air upgraded alloys and sports exhaust. This red, one owner car is mine for £28k. I know some people hate red, but I think it looks the part.

I would suggest you hold your M3 price, don't panic sell and just have a word with your Bank manager for a short term loan (if need be).

It's a crap time of year to sell, just hold on a little.

I think your proposed 996 looks great, but that is quite high miles. Have you bought it?

Thanks Mat. Haven't purchased it yet - nearly did a deal, but then the seller got cold feet over the part ex. I may just not look at the classifieds, drive my M3 until summer and then look again when the market is moving again.

Love my M3, but have a 911 itch to scratch whilst the kiddies are still small. Once they grow up I can go back to the M3.
