Hendy,

Just out of interest did you have to supply brackets / bolts to Hayward and Scott? I spoke to them some time ago and they said I would need to supply these myself (my car is a 99 C2 and the bolts etc will no doubt need cutting off).

Maybe they are now offering this as part of their drive in service?

Thanks

Im sure it does sound good but word of warning if thinking about the odd track day my C4s has a bog standard exhaust an clocked 100db at a steady 4000 rpm static test at castle combe which is the cicuit limit if you are unlucky and get a jobswoth marshal you are refused a run and no refund. The (nice) marshal that I had said its normal for Porsches to be borderline legal

I didn't have to supply any bolts at all. I think they reused the originals, but couldn't be sure.

We do the same mod as this at £340incl VAT and includes any brackets/clamps and bolts required.
1" pipe tig welded into the exhaust.

Why is it more expensive than Hayward & Scott?

Assume this is just the brackets and clamps etc??

What if we arrive with our own?

PS I Want this done.

Hendy, I thought when I started to read this that you'd done the mod to the GT3...

Hello

This is to cover if we need to repair the exhaust hanger brackets which often snap the studs off, also the clamps are £18 each if you can not replace the securing bolts ...ect ect.#

If you arrive with own boxes to have modified then would do the 2 boxes for £145incl vat

Mike

Hello

Never tested the noise output to confirm, would say it was a little quieter than the PSE exhaust system, we are located in knutsford wa16 8pr

No chance of this mod being done to a 996TT, I suppose?

Hi, 996TT exhausts can not be done the same.

Sorry.

Is this the same for 997 TT?

If so, what stops it being done with the TT exhausts?

Hi,

Same for 997TT, I am going to cut a 996TT exhaust open and see if I could modify the internals to make it sound louder, better. Would this be of interest to 996TT owners ?

No, it's a very old thread that got revived yesterday. I did consider something similar with the GT3, but I failed the static noise test last year at Bedford in the GT3 with the stock exhaust, so I think the only viable option is the switchable PSE if I want to continue tracking it.

Would be of interest to me (997tt) if it's the same process

how on earth did your standard (996?/997?) C4S get remotely near 100dB on the static test (0.5m @45 degs)?! you haven't got a hole in it or something?

my 996 C4S, with a design tek sports exhaust (not the super sound mind), only clocked 95.5dB at 4.5k rpm at bedford, and it's significantly louder than my old standard exhaust (which the guy almost didn't even bother to test the time before after confirming it was standard)
