its madness that dealers are allowed to slate private sellers cars yet private individuals cannot make other users aware of truthfull facts about certain dealers on PH.
id like to point out most PH dealers are good guys, nothing against the majority, for the record.
Careful Gary that was nearly a productive post!id like to point out most PH dealers are good guys, nothing against the majority, for the record.
I do agree that there is no place for a rule that dealers can name and shame cars with history but private individuals can't. However luckily such a situation does not occur and I can think of several instances where a car at a dealer has been commented on as having had a dubious owner/accident history/wrong spec/mileage issues by private individuals, with no complaints made. I can only suspect your comment was referring to your pathetic crusade against one dealer who shall remain nameless that most of the people on this board got sick of hearing about and asked you to shut up about it as it was like a broken record. That isn't naming and shaming it's being a boring git.
Picking up on cars with history is a very important tool to buyers, I spoke to the chap who bought the 964 in question here and while I stand to be corrected I got the impression the cars history came as a surprise. Now whether or not he would have bought the car originally had he known the history is a question only he could answer, but there are no issues with people having all the facts at their disposal as the only people it hurts are those trying to pass cars with history off as cars without. This is unfair to the buyer and does the market place no favours either.
I have no issues with people highlighting the fact a car has history with it, however when they discredit and judge the car without ever viewing it I find unacceptable. I except that the car was used on the track and was not perfect, would I have still bought the car after all the sgging it has recived yes. As for resale value hopfully I will never have to sell it and can enjoy it next year and use as intended.
