Got to work this morning to find an email from the current owner of my old 964 C2 RS-alike to say that it was stolen from outside his house in Maida Vale yesterday. There was no sign of forced entry, so can only assume it was put on a trailer.

Anyway, just a general post to ask people to keep an eye open for the car - it is pretty distinctive and I can't imagine it would be easy to sell on. Briefly the spec is ........

1990 C2 reg no G747 CHP
Slate Grey Metallic
Front brake vents fitted
Cup mirrors
RS rear bumper middle section
Cup 1 17 inch rims in black with silver rim and coloured crests
Toyo T1R tyres
Rear half cage (Safety Devices)
Rear seats deleted, black RS style interior carpets and door cards
Blue Luke harnesses fitted both sides
Recaro SPG XL seats fitted both sides
Momo wheel
Front strut brace
993 brakes with drilled discs

I will update with chassis and engine number when I have them

I feel really bad for the owner as I know what a great car it is and how much work has gone into it (money that is unlikely ever to be recovered)

Please keep your eyes peeled, particularly those in the trade .......

thanks,

Jamie

Sorry to hear that - It looks like a lovely car!

So much scum around these days!

FWIW, I assume he has phoned the DVLA to check that there were no parking/ tax issues and they haven't 'taken it away'. My car went missing a month back. Despite the tax disc being 'current' the "computer said no" at the DVLA and I didn't get told for a few days. Although I was lucky enough to see them take it, had I not... Then i would have assumed it was stolen.

It just seems odd that crooks would flat bed a Porsche 964 as they must be hard to shift at the moment, unless they thought it was an RS?

I live in Maida Vale and was pointing out some of the features of this car to my girlfriend as we passed it the weekend before last (on Castellain Rd it was parked).

Sorry to hear about this and will keep my eyes peeled.

Thanks for the post Jamie.
I've called "tracks" towing database, nothing.

It's just very disappointing, I think i'm in shock.

Do you have appropriate insurance?

mate, at this stage, the answer is yes.
BUT when they come to paying the claim, we'll wait and see.
I fear I'll have a battle on my hands trying to get a fair value.
cheers

Yes, although as it has been extensively Ninemeistered so is not going for quite standard money...but you will find it in the PH ads...Guards Red....etc etc...:9

Bad luck though - hope you find a solution whichever way....!

QUICK UPDATE

Just got a call from the lancashire police (stolen vehicle dept).
They found my porsche BUT it's been stripped down to the shell.

The shell was found in a workshop in lancashire belonging to someone who races porsches. the police are investigating further.
They also found 2 other rolling shells and 3 stolen engines.

Keep an eye out!

I'd say that narrows it down....

Problem is its massivly lucrative but the courts seem very lenient.
