Taking your time finding the right car is the key. There are some great cars out there among all the dogs.

The reason i said a gearbox rebuild was £1000 is because that's what mine cost to get rebuilt, granted the engine was already out and it wasn't a complete rebuild, just new syncros and so on but it was £1k.
Oh and if a gearbox isn't working properly and you have to resort to doubling the clutch i think it's fair to say it's shot. You may well be able to still drive it and get by but it doesn't change the fact that it's knackered
does a notchy gearbox when cold mean we throw all the toys out of the cot and drop the box? when warm she's perfect, I double de clutch cause I do as a matter of course. Granted the gearbox may not be in its first bloom, nevertheless I think it is totally un-necessary to drop the box and if I was a betting man I'll get a pile more mileage out of it. To say its shot imho simlpy is niave unless your from the brigade that has more money than sense.....actually why don't i just put a match to the car as the heater matrix squeaks, theres a few stone chips on the front and there's a non OEM exhaust on her and the turbo charger is original..............

Sorry, i didn't realize that you "double the clutch" just because you enjoy doing it, i'm sure you have lots of fun. Don't set fire to it though, that's just silly

Couple on ebay (no connection other than I quite fancy one too):
Item number: 280271756083 and Item number: 280257682852 - £4k difference in price - both look good in the pics...
