The money is not the problem. I specced Bose in my current car which I am pleased with. I have the opportunity to purchase a brand new pre specced car with the sound plus pack - clearly you can't have bose retro fitted.
If its a very good deal.. don't sweat the loss of the Bose system, if its not wait for a new car to your own personal spec.... the discount word is now in a Porsche salesman vocabulary for the first time, even on a new factory order!!!

Are you sure that they are giving discounts? I'm trying 2 months to get a discount on a new order but they always say no...

bose is far better than psp which produces little in the way of bass. If you go aftermarket by the time you have paid for amps, sub, speakers and crucially, fitting, bose would have been cheaper in any event.

Just to update you all.

Picked up my new Cayman and can confirm the Sound Package Plus speaker system along with the new stereo supplied in Gen 2 Cayman is much better than the Bose in my Boxster 987 (IMO)!! The positioning of the rear speakers in the Cayman gives a far better stereo range, plus the shape of the cabin creates a really good bass.

Best of all, I now have a Aux socket and MP3 compatible CD, which makes life alot easier.

Many thanks for all your comments.

I'll bet they have changed the loom so you can't.
I think I have read somewhere that they have. They don't miss a trick, old Porsche, do they!
