I kept it pretty tight on the options, I have:

Carrera S II 19" Wheels c/w Colour Crests
Sound Package Plus
Rear Parking
Part Leather
Aux Connection
Climate
Plus most importantly IMO, on a standard Cayman, I had the front lips colour coded. On the non 'S" they come unpainted - they look shhhiiii..... terrible!

Hey Frank - car looks great in red.

Presume by your user name that you had a Gen 1 Cayman before?

If so do you notice much difference?

No Pete, changed my username, I had a 2006 987 Boxster with the 239bhp 2.7. Running the current car in at the moment (only got 86 miles on it!). Will report back after the magic 1,000 mile mark!

However, engine picks up alot quicker than the 2.7. Also, suspension seems more comfy, even though I am still running 19" without PASM.

Will report back soon, should cover 1,000 in just over a week!

Nice one.

You'er doing very well with running it in.

I didn't stick to the book and just kept gently upping the revs as I went along until at around 800miles I was balls out.

Never suscribed to the whole 1,000 miles and suddenly the engine is run.
Purely my opinion and not desighned to start an arguement.

Having had 19" on by Boxster and covered over 80K plus driving demo cars with 18". I have never thought it screwed the ride at all. The 19" give huge amounts more grip, especially in the wet, where 18" would wheel spin or step out, the 19" just stays planted.

Mirrors are very big!

Lovely side view and a great colour, but why are Porsche making the Cayman look like a 10 year old MR2 from the front?

You must be thinking about some thing else or not know the car !!!!

the tyre width are the same for 18 and 19"

In the rain a lower profile 35 series tyre will break away quicker than 40 series rubber.
ALso the 40 series rubber will offer more grip in the wet.

I have both 18" and 19" wheels for my car btw.
the 18" are better in every single way but looks.

Whatever, all I know is the 9.5J 19" wheel gave more grip then the 9J wheel of the 18"'s for what ever reason. That is after covering 80K with 19"s compared to sliding around on 18" demo cars.

Perhaps I drive the demo cars harder!!!!!

Edited to add: It may be that the brand of tyre on my Boxster was different to that of the demo cars. I know my old Conti's gripped alot more than the RE050's that replaced them on the Boxster.

My new Cayman has Mich sports - these seem to get good feedback, so am looking forward to finding out

Mich sports seem to give the best grip over the harder bridgestones and contis.

You will love it, I drove the 2.9 at Silverstone was very impressed and a big jump over the 2.7.
