Apparently been taken over by Lloyds in a bid to fill a gap in the market created by Porsche and BMW etc.

Now marketed as the 'best used car warranty'

Also no exclusions!

As stated is just an insurance policy whihc some will see as peace of mind.

I`m thinking on it a as alternative to Porsche warranty, seeing as they`ve refused to renew mine.
Their quote was £1061 for 12 months, inclusive of OPC labour charged at £135 per hour.
So why do I still feel wary confused

because these companies inherently have a bad rep, you will however only hear about the bad stuff.

I have used them before for a 360 spider but I didn't claim on it so can't help you there.
I will be using them again for my 996 GT2 next month as the new porsche one is a joke imo, very limiting.
Cheers

Thanks for the replies lads.

I`ve bought a warranty from them, covering all mechanical and electrical parts, all assemblies, cats, failure due to premature wear, key and lock, and tyres.
Labour charged at £135 hr. and no excess.
£10,000 max any one claim, no limit on amount of claims upto £50k.

£96.87 a month until I cancel, or to a max of 3 years.

It`s cheaper to buy a 12 / 24 / 36 month policy, but easier to cancel on the pay as you go scheme ..... just incase biggrin (I might want to px it next month or .... )

Sounds at least as dependable as the Porsche version. Is it transferable if you sell?

I've been looking at warrantywise for warrnty options for a 996tt which I am looking to get, however on the website it is not possible to select 911 derivatives (ie carrera 2s/4s/targa/turbo/convertible/GT2/GT3) All that is listed is "porsche 911"

Does anyone else find this offputting? What if I was to get a 996tt warranty and when it comes time to claim they say "it's not a standard 911"

I've been considering these guys too.

What concerns me is that they appear to have left themselves open to the following 'scam'

If I were to buy a car with a known fault, e.g. ASBO's GT3 (with knackered engine/clutch) which presumably does have a full years MOT, join up and then claim for the work straight away....

What am I missing?

Yeah, they seem pretty respectablish. The Maserati dealer in Edinburgh told me their approved used cars come with a warranty courtesy of warrantywise too.

What about breakdown recovery/assistance? Is that part of Warrantywise or do you need separate?

I understand Porsche Assist can be purchased for £155, which would still make for a better overall deal than the PGB extended warranty.

Just taken a policy out with them, I asked exactly this question to which they replied that cover includes Turbochargers and so, they don't care which 911 derivative it is. (£850 btw)

Expecting any failures before September? I would like to see how a claim goes before my OE Warranty expires!! wink

Seriously, I am almost certainly going to go Warrantywise, maintaining OPC routine service. That way I can keep my PPF, fit my own tyres and get my brakes done elsewhere, if necessary, and still have a Warranty, hopefully at least as good as the PGB extended version.

Did you do anything about breakdown recovery?
