Good suff - Thanks for the info chaps.

9M a supercharger conversion putting out the same power sound very interesting.

Being centrifugal though, I assume the power and troque curves would likely look very similar to Casey's conversion.

It's certainly a lot of power for the money and, despite them being very different cars, when the cost to upgrade is less than the cost to change to a 996/7T it is very tempting.

I have been looking at NA 3.7 engines and the cost differential is probably worse for the upgrade so it is not really sensible to do it while I have a running 3.4 engine. If it was to blow up though (I hope not, touches wood) then things would obviously change.

Why not get a 996GT3 MK2. It will givr you eveything you want for less that the combined cost of a Cayman and upgrades

I agree with Steve R, while it is fun to mod cars, the quoted cost is often just the beginning (soon you will be into suspension, brakes, uprated intercooling, further mods), and most mods will involve other compromises. A GT3 instead (or a 996/997T) is on the face of it a better idea.

I chose to mod my 996 C2 instead of buying a GT3... Read all about it in this months 911 & Porsche World wink

Some of us are just like that! And many, I suspect, prefer the Cayman to a 911...

Each to their own and all that!

In case anyone is interest in these parts and is in the UK the person to contact is Lawrence @ PARR. He is a great guy and they do a stellar job of building these cars. Heck, EVO gave it 5/5... that is very remarkably impressive.

Yes, I believe that is correct! Adam has written the article for that as well, as far as I am aware.
