As I am in count down mode, i am starting to think practical and my question is to you fellow GT2 owners, how many front splitters do you go through in a year, I am already planning my routes and what petrol stations I think I may just make it in without ripping the front off.

I had my GT2 over 3 years and didnt replace the splitter once. Mind you I live in the country and so speed bumps are not an issue. The previous owner seemed to replace the splitter once a year or so but then he lived in London. It is quite flexible so it will take a serious bash to break it. mind you cost to replace is around £180!

Hi there, I just love PH because I can talk to the previous owner ! One in a million. What is the car like to drive, I know it's quick but at normal speeds is it set up right,. Why did you sell such a good one, I looked at the black one at Hendon Way it was a dog, front wings had dents, front splitter missing and the rads looked a bit suspect.
The best thing you can do in Hendon, is do yourself a favour and keep driving straight past that shower of st company, I don't know how they are still in business, I will never buy a car from them again, and I'm happy to share my last experience 10 years back dealing with that lying slimey toe rag that runs it..

Can you PM me about that?

I spoke to the chap in some detail about a car they had in stock and he seemed like a nice chap....
(But I suppose, as the old saying goes, "but have you ever met a rude con man?")

I went to HWM to see a white mkII GT2.

The car had no GT2 badge on the back or kick plates in side, when i asked the sales person about lack of badge or more importantly the kick plates he said maybe the owner didnt want people to know what the car was. Personally i found this funny as white is a fairly stand out colour. I then looked at the service history and mot's, of which the mot's stated the car was blue. The man said that must of been a mistake on the mot garage's part, the same mistakes in 2 years by the same garage? I walked, the guy was a clown or an arse, one or the other or both.

Wow, just took my 996 Turbo for a quick blast after not driving the car for 1 week, my God it felt so quick that I am really starting to question my purchase in Jan for the GT2, honestly speaking....how much more special is the GT2.Is it something that I am going to dream about driving as appose to just jumping in the Turbo. From a visual aspect the GT2 has the Turbo licked but is the sense of occasion going to be greater because that's why I am selling the TT, its the emotion that Im after not just blasting down the road.
I'm sure there will plenty of emotion in the cabin the first time you go for a blast in the wet and the arse end goes a different route to the one you planned!!

Hi Jason, great news on the purchase of a GT2...welcome to the club.
Just in case anyone wants to know about the black car at HWM PM me. The car generally needed some work, in addition to the above the front bumper is probably the most obvious problem, and the centre radiator needed replacing. Here is a picture:

I am surprised with your experience at HWM. From others experience, I understand that most now treat them as a private sellers and continue buying from them, and fully expect not to receive any of the after sales benefits of buying from a trader, most cars visit workshops almost immediately to get work done. Though that does not make them any better, nor would I advise buying from them.
In regard to the white car though; HWM makes people fully aware of the fact that the car had been re-sprayed.

Evoeng on my visit to see the re-sprayed white car, i made the older guy apparently aware that it had been re-sprayed, he tried to get in touch with the buyer while i was there as he didnt have a clue that it had been re-sprayed apparently, that was what i was told while i sat there and he tried to call him. At no point did he say its not our car. I went to see the car as soon as the advert went up.

I was looking at the re-sprayed white car about 24 months ago.

I have not looked at your profile, are you affiliated with HWM?

Bund, EVOeng has nothing to do with HWM (and nor do I!), and I know he would have been fully aware of their reputation before looking at their cars.

Im not getting into a slanging match.

I was aware of their reputation prior to going and seeing the car but i prefer to make my own mind up on such things and went to see the car none the less. They did not tell me the car was re-sprayed before i went and the older salesman actually said that it must of been a mistake that the mot's said blue. Im not lying, that is exactly what happened.

That was when i decided the reputation for them being a poor outfit had truth to it.

Pic the car up next Saturday, JAZ are giving the car a full going over, Suspension, rads, even the motor is having a fool going over as Im going to keep this for years I just want it perfect ! they are doing a top job as I pocked my head in there last week. The boys at Jaz are passionate about anything Porsche so it truly was an education. In my mind 911Virgin are No1 ! Period. They have left no stone unturned with this car as it truly is one of the best examples out there so I feel honored and humbled to take ownership.

I had my TT detailed today and the paint just looks like glass, damn it looks good,I just hope to God the GT2 turns my switches !it should do because my driving has calmed down somewhat, Im booking an advanced handling day out just to understand the weight distribution and handling of a non tc Porsche. I just want to reach the limit of the GT2 in a controlled environment so Ill know how far not to go on the road.

Im beyond excited about the GT2, i've read every article on the car, so I know what I am letting myself into, the suspension simply cannot be any harder than my Hot rod because that truly is a brick ! basically in a nutshell.....don't get above your station in the the car, just enjoy the ownership !

CANNOT WAIT, im going to take a couple of pics when I collect so will post. !!!!!!!! Im just working my arse of so the week goes fast !!!!

Exactly, that's who 911 Virgin use. They send there cars there to get a full check over before sale and believe me they don't cut corners. Real nice bunch of chaps with some seriously tasty old skool Porsches in the work shop.
First big run for that baby is a drive down to the Milla Miglia track so I dont want any surprises.
