Could give your friendly OPC a call of course as they could confirm from chassis number or get a free certificate from Porsche of original build details if you have PCGB membership.
Ordered a C of A a couple of weeks ago so hopefully it'll detail it there.

EVOeng might be able to confirm also as he has a pretty comprehensive list of the UK cars, not all the 2004 registered cars are mk2 versions as some are late registered mk1 models, there is also a mk2 that I know of that has mk1 wheels fitted as a no cost option by the original owner.

I had assumed mine was a Mk.1 car but just wanted to confirm.

If I knew the registration of a Mk.2 car I could check the CO emissions on the DVLA vehicle enquiry site. I'm sure this would differ from the Mk.1 car.

Wheels and carbon aside (which can be transferred), how can you differentiate a 996 GT2 Mk.1 from a Mk.2? I'm assuming CO levels are different which would show up on the V5? What about chassis numbers etc?
To follow up on this....the 10th digit of the chassis number indicates the model year. A Mk.2 would be a 4, a Mk.1 car would be 2, 3 etc.

Had to get into the garage loft today so with the boys out thought it was time for a few photos as I don't really go in for them (Hence the quality)

And to highlight the difference in stance.

Never taken mine on track so could be an interesting experience and as I may be parting company with it soon I guess we should have one final hurrah together. Where?

Well after reading this thread from start to finish i've decided to take the plunge and get a 6gt2, its been my dream car for years. I've sold my current toy (vxr8) and i'm now in the market for one, although it'll probably be towards the bottom of the cars price range. There doesn't seem to be many about at the moment so i guess its a matter of being patient..

I did it the other way round, having just bought an 09 VXR8 with 37 miles on the clock.
(Still run my Monaro too, although it's too fast to use on the road much)

Chaps

It really is a long shot BUT does anyone have a set of rear PCCB Bells 996 GT3/2 tucked up in a box they would like to offload ?

By the way, If the weather is good tomorrow I am going to slip out of the office and head down to Goodwood Porsche track day for a nose. Im not tracking the car
but I am sure if the weather is ok there will be some nice toys out to play.

Very nice. My old Turbo was a nice car but not once have I thought about it since selling it. A great everyday car though with swift pace.

Lovely cars, I'll definitely miss the noise but need to scratch this itch.

Organized the trip for the second time with a group of Porsche-friends.
8 days, 5 cars, 25 Alpine passes and 2400 miles of driving with a big smile.
Seen rain, snow and beautiful sunshine. Very nice weather at Lake Garda and the start of the Mille Miglia.
Now a have only 1135 photo's and 80 hours of film, have to do till 2015.
