Hey guys
Anyone after a 997 GT2 RS - stunning spec.....

Speaking to my man James at OPC Leeds and he may have one available - contact him James.simpson@porscheleeds.co.uk

He's once again just sorted me out with yet another 991 - wish I could get this beast though!!

Guys when are we all getting together ! Im off to the States for work but back next weekend.
I think the Silverstone Sunday Service will be the next thing, I doubt we'll make the 500 but we'll park somewhere else and have our own display smile

Haven't seen your car about lately, hope it's not been put away for the winter yet smile

I have just been so busy with work, I'm off again on Sunday so the car is just parked up with the cover on frown( Shame as its had so much work done to it this year. Im planning on doing a bit of quarter mile action seriously next year so I have stepped back into my Little Consul
but adding some more tubes and V8 Muscle and a bit of Nitrous smile) Photoshop Image attached. It will rip the GT2 of the road in a straight line
but not really built for the Roundy round stuff.

Hopefully see you all soon.

Next year, its seriously worth organising a trip down to Paul Ricard for the Classic, its just amazing. I attended over the weekend and promised myself that next year, Im taking the car. Apart from all the mental Grp C cars and all in between, you see Supercars old and new but I still have not come across a 996 GT2 so next year, we all need to arrive in force !

Interested to hear how you get on with the new brakes. PARR have just put new PFs on my GT2 and have to say, they have been excellent so far.
Sorry to barge in through you polisherssmile but was asked to report back... Very impressed with the new brakes, stops better than the Alcons, IMHO...

The PF's are very good for the track, i just sold mine. But I am so happy with the Ceramics on the car now as I purely use the car on the Street. The brake dust did my head in ! Glad your enjoying them.

Nice drive on Sunday, you never get to see what your own car looks like driving on the road so its fun driving behind another GT2. I think thats my normal place i.e. behind KAL as he is a bit to quick for me smile Good driver mate.

Europe trip next year anyone !

This is exactly what I have in mind ! I had such a blast on Sunday, there is something about driving these cars knowing that you have so much power under your right foot without the silly electronics to aid you so its a real brain workout knowing that your in full control. Love it !

Your trip looked great, I would love to round up a bunch of us and do this.

Well another year has gone by and thank God the car is still in one piece. Still learning it but getting smoother all the time
and learning to trust the car more. My confidence in the car has grown purely by putting miles on it, not being to precious about it but still
keeping it mint. The biggest improvement has defiantly come from the Suspension getting this fully overhauled from the Strut mounts
down to the control arms and everything in between was costly but money well spent. My car does ride a bit low on Cup ride heights but due to the new damping and Geo, it just feels amazing. Putting the Ceramics back on was a costly move but what a difference in peddle feel, never going back to Steels unless it sees track work which is highly unlucky.

The best part of ownership though has been getting together with the guys and just driving, great bunch ! Also driving in front or behind other 996 GT2s really makes you laugh at how mad they look on the road, its a shape that just grows on me more and more. Its not the race look of the 993 GT2 but the understated menace from every angle that does it for.

Just glad I bought it when I did because by the look of it, the ship has now set sale. Awesome cars.

So far the Brakes have been brilliant, I'm always keen to understand fully why people have so much trouble with them but from what I gather it purely down to either letting the pads were down below 50% which is even worse on 997s due to the stud in the pad that is exposed below 50% or simply just not cooling them down correctly on the track. I will keep a little post on progress but once a again thanks to Slippy for the advice and discs and also Ramus Porsche for a Brand
new set of rears, Im trying to twist his arm for the fronts but he's not having it. Im also monitoring the test car for SICOM, they seem to now have a genuine refurbishment service for the brakes which includes and even better surface finish that the OEM parts.

Seasons Greeting to all

The car was up in the air off all fours after Goodwood and got a thorough blast with the jet wash, its not seeing daylight until March, if I can wait that long frown
