Here is one of the same car that I took at a 2007 track day at Zandvoort:

And with her sister (owned by the same gentleman of course):
He told me that sometimes he would ask a pro driver to to take the GT2 and chase him in the CGT which would even out the playing field a bit and add some fun.

Going home after play: smile

And finally, thought I might as well post this since you may not ever see a 996 GT2 and a CGT from this angle again (at least not in carrera weiss) smile

Here is a GT2 treat that I hope you like. This Carrara Weiss 2005 GT2 was built to RS like specs (thin rear window, alcantara steering wheel, etc.) by Porsche for a special gentlemen customer who owns several dozens of Porsches (not kidding). It was never road registered and driven only on private track days until a couple of years ago. I saw it last at a Porsche Dealer in early 2013 when it was road registered and was for sale.

Enjoy! smile

Wow.
That looks bloody stunning.
Oh Yes !

Apart from my general dislike of the unfortunate 996 front end I've always thought the wide bodied 996s look uncomfortable around the rear arch and this one (despite being an interesting example and thanks for sharing BTW) looks particularly odd and ungainly

Yes totally agree, ghastly looking monsters.

A silver accident damanged one went for £60k, so your prices are very wrong
Seems prices are all over the place.

Had a private seller in Germany telling me he sold his comfort for around 70k sterling

On the other hand I know a nice car in Sweden for sale at much less then that

I will probably get grilled saying this but I think the 996 GT2 is one of the best looking 911's. Seeing them on the road just makes your draw drop.

Huge road presence in my humble opinion.

Oh, I doubt you will. I was following a friend in my lowly 996t when he had a mk 2 996 GT2. It looked soo good with the big rear spoiler, and lower stance.

Clunky

Not clunky

The market will obviously decide but the 996 era was pretty awful in the looks dept IMO

I'll stick with Tiff Nedell on this one, I think he knows a little bit about cars.

It's like art, all subjective so it's a pointless thread. I'm out.

I'm finding it hard to note a difference in the "clunky" department?

No need to explain yourself, I'll put it down to half a shandy at lunch beer

Of course you are correct, I'm not trying to troll, I own 1 X GT2 and another X GT2 lookylike, the 6GT2 is an awesome spec thoroughbred Porsche, I first looked at buying one in 2001 and it was a great drive but for me it was then as it is now an ugly duckling, only an opinion which counters others' and may explain why prices (which most seem obsessed by) will not go stratospheric.

Sorry can't resist:

I agree it's all subjective, and I personally would love a 997GT2 particularly in RS form but I will always like the 996 GT2 form factor as it has a slightly cleaner approach in my eyes.

Gentlemen and Ladies enjoy which ever version 911 you have they are all great cars.

I've always thought that the 996 rear end is cleaner and less fussy than the 997. The 997 is a more 'rounded' design overall and the front end is nicer. On that white car I think the camber is making it all look a bit wonky.

The 996 GT2 is easily the best looking 996, the lights on the whole range will always split people but I think on the GT2 the design works.

On a side note, I've been sent the GT2 register that Ram has been maintaining, the 996 register will be nearly 100 cars now beer
