What's happened to the BHP car, is it a turd?
Looked like a good car, light panel damage that had been repaired well. Some Spray masking details under the Rear Drivers Window rubber seal that might need addressing but nothing major. Good low mileage car if you can look past the unfortunate damage but, if its been repaired correctly then should not be an issue. BHP were open to have a full inspection on the car if needed so they were completely open an honest.

Quite surprised that Gobbie went but this one hasn't? I'd be amazed if someone hasn't already had an inspection given that it's been around so long.

996 GT2 MK1 Wheels, anyone know what the going price is ?

Could possibly make a nice little profit in the future due to rarity.

Yeah they look good, the Mk2 wheels are awesome but theres something to be said about the simplicity of the MK1 wheels as well. Are they lighter than the 996 turbo wheels?

Hollow spoke design and more efficient in the way it cools the brakes. I think they look smooth but menacing due to
the extra width over the standard Turbo wheels.

I'd hazard a guess that a complete set would get you a single new mk2 12" rear, nearly.

I'm keeping mine, they are boxed up in the loft, even the mk1 wheels are fairly rare and if I ever did sell they'd go with the car to the new owner.

OPC do a storage option.

agreed no point selling, if you sell up they should go with the car anyway. Wouldn't sell a set of MK2s with a car.

Those 996GT2 MK1 wheels are monsters, Porsche's first attempt at production 12" rims - the set weighs in at 51.6kg, the rears are 14.4kg each - I have the MK 2 weight data somewhere but they are a lot lighter.

You guys have spooked me now, matching numbers and all that.

The Mk2 wheels could actually be a turn off if I had to let it go.

Best left in the box.

Yes. no-brainer to sell the car with the matching numbers wheels, and sell the Mk2 wheels afterwards.
Numbers will add up a lot better too!

Isn't it a Cat D? I bought Gobbie because although it had been in a shunt, it wasn't an insurance write off and it was repaired to a very high standard.

I didn't touch this car as I'd heard it was cat. Few people have put deposits down and then the true story has come to light.

Matching number wheels? Is that for real :-D

Either way never sell the original wheels, crazy thing to do smile

I'm probably in a minority here, but I reckon the mk1 wheel looks much better smile

imho

Nope, I'm with you smile the Mk1 wheels look far more "thuggish", simple and thus suit the belligerent character of the car perfectly. Mk 2 wheels "prettier".
