Market watch: looks like the Lawton Brook 996 black with beige interior comfort is now off the market ( was up for £73k ) and now a new one comfort with 31k miles appears but going to auction at the end of March with estimate 65-75k

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Will be interested to see what it sells for...

Unfortunately it isn't a real gt2 , it's a 2003 tt with genuine gt2 parts, moton suspension....

The wheels are 19" BBS LM 2 piece wheels.

The steering wheel is a re trim by 'royal steering wheels' half leather/ alcantara with red 12 o'clock and and extra padding.

Does the 996 TT share the same suspension? Adjustable lower control arms, arbs, etc.? Genuine question as I'm a Porsche amateur.

I'm same as you my car haven't sat in my car yet but of what I know now. The gt2 suspension is fully adjustable which way what way etc and different in that sense from standard 996tt

No adjustable anti roll bars, no adjustable lower control arms, no adjustable spring seats on the dampers.
What you see is what you get, basically you can adjust the very minimum of settings (yet still the likes of Chris Harris will tell you the GT2 is a turbo with it's 4WD system removed......)

Thanks. I know how adjustable the GT2 is, I've spent 2 days with Chris @ CG now and I'm learning quite a bit about the car, but I keep reading people say the TT is basically a GT2, yet from what I can tell and what you've said, underneath there seems to be very little in common.

The GT2 seems a lot closer to the GT3, than the TT does to the GT2.

Correct. Think of the GT2 as a GT3 with a wider body, more rubber, two turbos and a tad more weight. That's why I never get the idiots that hold a GT3 up there with God and slate a GT2 to hell and back.... Different cars in character but they essentially do the same / have similar characteristics.

Both are very, very different to a Turbo which feels a bit like a large (fast) marshmallow in comparison.

smile

Probably because of the slightly more aggressive nature of the GT2, and most people will be faster around a track in a 3 from the off.
I've talked to a couple people who went from GT3 to GT2 and was initially slower around a track. Until they got used to the car that is.. Now they would never go back

I am yet to even see my car in the flesh, but my dad and my brother took it out the other night and their words was "Sell it, it is way too fast. NO one need performance like that!". Now dad drives a c220 cdi and my brother a volvo 960 gle so I am not surprised they found it a 'bit' intimidating.

Sounds perfect to me, I can't wait! biggrin

Be careful - I genuinely would be cautious of letting relatives drive your car unsupervised. I lend both my GT2's to my Father who is 75, but he has a 930 himself and plied his trade in the forests of Wales and Scotland in the late 60's early 70's. Otherwise he'd go nowhere near them....

Yeah I know, but I needed someone to take it out for a spin and I know they wouldn't do anything daft.
