planning 2 weeks touring in NW Scotland my favourite place, mounting a camera to record the trip any recommendations regards make, type and mount would be greatly appreciated.

Gone, but not forgotten. Owned it for seven years and drove it around Europe ( 50000 miles) needed a change and traded her in for the GT2, than missed the old fashion dashboard and bought a 964Turbo 3.6 aswell. Still happy with both.

Been driving Porsches for 32 years now biggrin

Nice, everytime I plan on driving mine something pops up. Drove the wifes car to Germany recently so a big trip is on the cards.

They rate the GT2 as a future collectable/classic. I read it in the great library that is W H Smiths. It's mainly regurgitated bilge that anyone who's owned or driven a 996 GT2 over the past ten years already knew.

I'd suggest given there are so few left, none currently available for sale, and most owners are on here and can see the way the values are going, you're sadly unlikely to get into one for less than £100k. I know I wouldn't let either of mine go for any less than that so if one comes up beginning with a 7 or 8 then don't hang around because it won't be there for long. Interestingly mobile.de LHD prices are now strong too....

While mine is in Cambridge Porsche who've been looking after it since I bought it 8 years ago, I've asked their sales guys to appraise it trade and retail. He confirmed what you're saying -- 90k trade price with retail up in the 110-120k. Given none for sale right now it is indeed difficult to judge.

Given its clean bill of health they've just given it, I'm amused at the 20-30k of water they'll throw over it before selling. I'm definitely in the wrong line of work!

Sadly (for me!) I think you are spot on....I can't afford 70-80k in reality at the moment, hopefully a couple of years down the line will see me in the game!

And to think I walked away from one last March at my local garage(it was the owners personal car) for the princely sum of 44k !!!

Its a shame mate as they were built to be driven. Good luck though and keep the faith.

Nice one. Where are you headed? I need to give mine a good thrashing on track... Its time, or lack of it, thats the problem.
