To my beloved Father in law who passed away last week, for 20 years we always came to this spot at the Ring and had a Cigar. He loved this place so he had a holiday home here.
He always would say to me in very bad English, drive your car, don't worship it, Ie lust over the low mileage because one day you may never get to drive it again and Someone else will. Just be humbled that you own such cars.

A great picture and tribute and some wise words that will resonate with a lot of us.
Nothing like a nice cigar, enjoyed outdoors. Had to give up that occasional pleasure about fifteen years ago when business insurance got a bit stricter.
RIP; your father in law is right; we're here for a good time, but sadly not a long time. A mate and I (we're both old enough to know better and have more responsibility) have just spent a daft morning on the downhill mountain bikes and it makes you realise the bits in between these experiences aren't living to the same degree.

Real emotional day today but boy am I having Church. There is nothing like seeing and hearing a GT car ripping through
the forest. My Father in law would say a Porsche must have zeWing !! Lol
Painful day but I'm smiling because I know he has the best aerial shot in the house to see all the action lol.

Thanks Gav. Funeral tomorrow but I had my on little closure today at the track. He was a true Petrol head, Ulrich Upietz Porsche photographer was a good friend and patient of the family so he really was the one who got me into the more hardcore side of Porsche which I am most greatful.A great picture and tribute and some wise words that will resonate with a lot of us.
Hi John can you move that beetle out of the way, I can't see your new car in the back ground its blocking it, heard it was red!
Seriously congrats on the 993, lovely car. Whats the back story on the purchase LHD etc, any news on the GT2 sale?
