I had a Sachs 890NM clutch on my 996tt when I got it, but was advised by Sports & Classic (when they rebuilt the gearbox) to revert to standard, as those clutches drag and can cause gearbox issues. I always thought the GT2 already had an uprated unit as standard, but could well be wrong.

Std 996tt clutch was about £550 + VAT. No idea on fitting, because it was in with all the rest of the kit.

Great pictures all, J nice one for taking the car around the 'ring....

Good times

My clutch has just started slipping, anyone had there's done recently? Cost? Worth upgrading? She's lasted 39k miles so not bad.

A couple of GT2s are at Silverstone Auctions next month, I might pop over on the Friday for a look.

It was a real gentle lap, it was so dead when I arrived I thought it just had to be done. I could not imagine going flat out at the Ring unless I've done at 50 laps. The car felt good though, the grip and power is something you just can't experience on the road unless your taking huge risks.
I need a track car that I can rinse !!!!

Getting mine back next week, it's been for a stint at 9e. Not a crazy horsepower build I just wanted to have a couple of things looked at on suspension and tuning. Some complete fktard had been at tuning (tuning? hahahaha) it and all sorts of weird and wonderful things going on. So it's a had a custom tune by them, some suspension bits, geo, new rear tyres and a few other bits and pieces.

Yep, I'm on porridge for the rest of the year, but Ken reckons the car is transformed so I'm expecting an absolute beast back! It will be out until the salty roads return.

It will be night & day when you get it back! GT2 has K24 turbos as standard if I remember right? Prob looking around 540/550 Bhp with a map/exhaust etc.. Can't recommend Ken & his team highly enough, car has been bang on every time I have used them. I also have learned to like porridge & baked beans on toast....

Seems that the trend is to have a car with feeling in your garage now and not a Stats car, Wow the (R) is such an original concept smile
Quite. I think anything 997 and earlier is only going to become, as time passes, more and more appreciated for what is is/was.

The contrast between these two is unreal, Big Fuel injected V8 in one, twin turbo animal in the other. One thing in common, both analogue.

Ive managed to sell two in 3months LOL. Cant shift them quick enough. Im struggling to hold onto mine because the offers on these cars cannot go unnoticed anymore.

Im just watching the prices of the 991 GT3 RS, as soon as they hit 180K, Im out.

Looking back through some photos from this year, Ive had a great time in the car, I think the best had to be the France Porsche owners Club event at Spa, weather was perfect, I was the only 996 GT2 there out of hundreds of cars which was a bit sad but overall the drive from London/Koln/Spa was magic.

You don't usually get the chance to see your car from a birds eye view but the walk upto the pits provided a good photo opportunity.

As rare as my car was at the event, seeing this CGT get smashed to bits right in front of me at Eau Rouge was no joke. Car just arrived from Monaco, No warm up lap but flat out on the main straight, the wrest is history.

It was fair to say that my itch to do a couple of laps at Spa went very fast after seeing this. I didn't fancy joining him in the rare smashed up sweepstakes for the same day !
