Nice.
I'm working on setting up a proper GT2 club/register so that we can keep track of the cars properly, should have something live in the next few weeks, I'll add this one to the list of 997s I know of
There is another 997 GT2 in Esher which comes past my office and also Silver 996 GT2 located in St Georges Hill so will try and get picks without getting shot.I'm working on setting up a proper GT2 club/register so that we can keep track of the cars properly, should have something live in the next few weeks, I'll add this one to the list of 997s I know of

Yes they are bonded pure design fault.
I had a couple go on the GT3. Replaced them with the upgraded spec.
Was it an engine out Job to get to the pipes that are tucked under the induction system ? I had a couple go on the GT3. Replaced them with the upgraded spec.
This year is going to be an expensive one, just bought new set of boots, complete suspension freshen, Major service and Knowing myself the coolant pipes updated.
Thanks in advance.

Have you ever driven through the dip at the main traffic lights in Esher in your GT2? I always avoid it, my R Class scrapes along there, I reckon it would take the front end off the GT2!
Haven't seen your car out for a bit, saw an epic looking gen 2 RS in grey/red on the weekend on the Queen's Road
Nice 997 GT2 for sale here. Unfortunately its had 3 ignitions in RR 5 about 100 hours ago. Car looks lovely though. I wouldn't have thought its possible to have 3 ignitions in RR 5 - might be a glitch but at £100k they're asking all the money for this one. What does the PH massive think is a fair price on basis car drives well and all panels original? 5 owners.

What do the other rev ranges look like? Given that it has the uprated RS clutch it might have been re-mapped, which could explain a 'busy' over-rev report. 5 owners is 1 per year, not unusual on a GT car.http://www.jzmporsche.com/porsche-for-sale/911/997...
Not sure what it's worth, very difficult car to value but I think a few have sold at that kind of level via the Porsche network recently. The rumours about the GT2 not appearing in the 991 line-up has no doubt pushed values up a bit.

Limited supply so not many to choose from, particularly if you are bothered regarding PCM2 or PCM3, plus has uprated clutch and lift so on paper it looks a good example. Can it be covered by official warranty or does it need compression check etc etc?http://www.jzmporsche.com/porsche-for-sale/911/997...
If you are in the market then it has to be worth a look, dealer knows his stuff and has a very good reputation to maintain.
Several have been advertised in the 90-100k bracket so at the top of the price range.

On a totally different topic, I was on Rennlist last night and came across a thread about a number of 996TT's, 996 GT3,s GT2, basically any car that has the GT1 Mezger block. The engines are
very tough but it seems the weakness link and frankly could be extremely dangerous is the Water hoses connected to the pumps etc, I think there are about 7-8 of them that to me seems utter madness appears to be bonded !! i.e. no flange and jubilee clip. Reading the stories of these hoses coming loose and sending coolant directly onto the back tyres has very limited appeal to me. Has anyone on this site experienced this or heard of this happening over here. I know that the export cars to the states experience a higher level of temp which could effect the bonding but it just seems like this is strong enough and dangerous enough to have been a recall ?

Give Matt at Fearnsport a call he has devised a way of connecting up the pipes to the housings so this does not happen. Rennlist has pages of the problem. Thanks in advance.

the weld. I am going to get Matt to do mine but i might opt for the thread after seeing this which makes sense. Thats the thing with prevention work, it seem like hard earned down the drain
but I would physically cry if it went knowing that I could have done something about it. I called PARR yesterday to ask if its a common problem and they said no but it does happen from time to time which was all I needed to here.

Any GT2 owners still attending on the 31st, would be good to meet like minded people....
Hi markNot sure as now a couple of us can't make it and J's car is up at CG so not sure but there will be a good turn out of Porsches Fromm 911 to 356's worth a visit if you've never been and they're a friendly bunch
Hope we can all sort something out soon

GT2 buying question, is the GT2 RS way out of sync price wise? Discuss:
So you could buy a GT2 RS:

Or all 3 of these 2 x 997 GT2's and a 996 GT2 for the same money:
