Next outing will be Anglesey next Friday trying out new Performance Friction brakes, different stripe and wheels now.
Interested to hear how you get on with the new brakes. PARR have just put new PFs on my GT2 and have to say, they have been excellent so far.Edited by PHOENIXUK on Friday 26th September 10:43

996 GT2's are awesome pieces of kit, I cannot believe you can get one for the price of a 964RS replica - it's bonkers. The fact that 993 Turbo's are achieving twice the price of a good GT2 is even more of a piss take. Don't get me wrong, nice cars but inferior in every since. GT2's tick every box - Fast, handle nicely, look beautiful, sold in low numbers, manual, no silly electronics, bullet proof engine and transmission and to top it off screwed together by Porsche Motorsport. Oh and an iconic engine cover badge consisting of two letters and one number. I like mine so much I've just bought another one....
Im being serious. If someone offered me £120k I would turn it down. Ive had my car now for a few years and I just love it to bits, every time I drive the car slow or fast ! it just gives me pure utter Joy. I've driven every GT3 apart from the latest to potentially sell mine and swap just before the Gen 2 Rs went crazy and although from an investment point of view, I should have made the jump BUT from seat of the pants and raw emotion behind the wheel, I made the right choice. Ive spent a bomb on the car this year but sense i bought the car, I wanted it perfect so have taken the approach from a restoration point of view, i.e. complete suspension overhaul from CG, the engine has been freshened from top to bottom courtesy of 911V, so overall with all the bits its in for at least top of my head £20k easy, but its still a bargain compared to 993 TT prices. I don't think they will ever reach 993 GT2 money due to the lack of Motorsport pedigree but the fact that it is the last hand built Motor Sport division car, the last mechanically set up drivers instrument
with zero aids makes it a car that has to be appreciated and respected so the prices are only going one way. You just have to look at the 993 GT2 or the 964 Rs, the press slated them. Matt at Fearnsport told me he truly struggled to sell a 993 GT2 for 30-40K and then as the new models came out with less of that RAW feel that the previous cars had, the cost started to rise, in terms of 996 GT2 this truly is the last animal like car Porsche ever made and certainly will not make another like it. Truly glad I bought when I did, Truly glad !!!!

Did you stick to OEM suspension?
Totally agree, stunning car. There aren't really any around currently to test the market. I'm sure a straight car must be £70k easily? Now I'm doing what I hate, valuing cars! There's enough similar threads on PH's already!
All OEM, including the Toe links which I think are essential in terms of controlling accurate Geo, the standard items are useless once the rubber starts to delaminate.Totally agree, stunning car. DB Carbon did mine...
I know unclepezza has one for sale. I noticed it on Ebay recently.
Didn't think the mirrors would make such a big difference but I now think they're essential if you're going for the wing.

May I ask what was the damage ? j.forrester@larinodesign.com if you don't want to disclose amount.
The online prices are a little fruity but over a month or so I managed to negotiate the figures sufficiently downwards.
