Like we said, we don’t know the reason why Uwe Gemballa decided to fall off the grid, but if the latest happenings involving his tuning his house has any merit, then he – and his company, for that matter - might be in some deep trouble. Keep checking back here for more updates regarding this rather perplexing turn of events.
shame his tuning projects didn't have any merit

I'm guessing he's been made to 'disappear' by the Taste Police:

Agree on the JHB comments though, if he's genuinely been kidnapped, the outcome isn't very good usually...
Probably right. Still looks better than the standard one though. redcard

Just been reading some of the comments on the article above and noticed this one

"HELLO GOOD SIRS:
I am Mr. Ali Gemballa. My UNCLE Uwe Gemballa has recently been discovered in SOUTH AFRICA and greatly needs help in transferring a large sum of money into the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Opressive FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS have been seeking his money, and he wishes to move it safely out of the country. PLEASE reply to this and you will receive a sum of $50.000 USD for your assistance. Please this is URGENT.
Thank You
MR Ali Gemballa of SOUTH AFRICA"
good spelling, reasonable grammar, it MUST be real.
where do i pay?i assume their will be an admin fee.
No admin fee - however, he does need a receipt for the $50k which you need to send via his nominated courier company for $5k. He will of course reimburse you for this cost on the same stolen credit card.

Who can lose?
hmmm... used the correct spelling of 'lose' instead of 'loose'
im really failing to see how this can not be for real.
should i just give you my credit card to make it easier or would you prefer cash in a brief case?

Was in Jo'burg over the summer - 50 rapes, 25 carjackings and 10 murders a day according to one news programme I watched. I grew up in Northern Ireland in the worst of our conflict and I've never been as scared as I was while in downtown JHB.

I loathe most of Gemballa's 'creations', but if he is missing, he's in deep trouble.

Ransom of €1m. I think that's very convenient given his company's current situation.

I had the (mis) fortune to meet Mr Gemballa at the Top Marques show in Monaco a couple of years ago.

Whilst mooching about I saw his Mirage CGT and Cayenne. The Cayenne looks bloody awful, the interior was interesting though. Beautifully made centre console etc, anyway whilst admiring I was approached by what could only be described as a short, fake tanned little nazi who told me to ps off in no uncertain terms. I can't remember his actual words but just remember his attitude and given that I hadn't even TOUCHED the car never mind tried to sit in it I thought his outburst a little OTT.

I walked off and then sat in the Zonda R - amazing what a difference you find at shows. I promised myself that I would never by a Gemballa anything (car - probably not afford one, poster, even a sticker). Looks like I won't have to worry about that dilemma now. If he spoke to someone in S.A the way he spoke to me I am not surprised he was kidnapped.

Either way he deserved it, the stupid little Hitler wanabe (my opinion only)

p.s I find it very hard to believe ANYONE would keep him captive for long. You couldn't stay in the same building as the insufferable little st for more than 5 minutes!! Think its a tax thing!

Bloody hell - that article reads like a James Bond script preamble. I feel for the poor chap's family. While the cars were diagraceful IMO, it is a tragic end.

I'm inclined to agree - it's not like it's all show and no go either. Not my thing but I can see the appeal.
