There is only one 'legal' UK number plate font, not sans serif, not arial bold or normal, just one and it's called 'New Charles Wright font'

It is legal in standard black, 3D or carbon, but it is all the same font !

Ayyye, thankyou ! wink

So?

Is the part of your post that makes it make sense or worthwhile missing?

Not feeling this. As long as there is any shade of yellow these will never look German to me.

The plates were identical on the front, but for a white background. It was more convenient to photograph the rear!

I had these on one of my previous cars about 6 years ago and got nothing but trouble, couple of warnings and then eventually had the traffic cops remove them from the car one night there and then. Just gone with standard ones ever since.

Copper's priorities will vary from region to region I guess but Grampian's finest up here have always had it in for folk with anything other than 100% legal plates.

Meh, for me the Coupe is neither here nor there, if you 're bothered about driving dynamics, a GT3 or a Cayman is a better option, if you just want a nice cruiser /GT then the cab has no downside compared to coupe and it feels like a roadster whenever the sun is out.

The coupe is neither here or there? What does that mean? Its the original and correct 911 configuration!

"correct 911 configuration"? confused

I didn't realise there were rules! laugh

The coupe may have been the original configuration, that doesn't mean it's the best for a modern day 911.

outdated

german plates haven't had the 'AU' emissions sticker on the front for a couple of years now

and no registration begins with X (tell people it's Xanten, near dutch border at Nijmegen wink )

Just saying l prefer the coupe. Personally I find all 911 cabriolet variants unpleasing to look at. I didn't mention it before because I didn't want to hurt your feelings. German style plates are, in my opinion a bit naff and can cause issues at the 'Ring and Swiss boarder contro (a travelling companion has first hand experience). Again, I didn't mention the naff-ness before for fear of upsetting you. If you are happy with your 996 cabriolet with German style pates, then I am glad for you. I just prefer the coupe. Still.

Oh right, it's just that your post came across as a bit of a veiled dig, you know "...I prefer the coupe..." as the entire post in a thread about number plates could be read as a comment purely designed to wind the other person up.

Just like a post that mentions "not mentioning" naff-ness, because you didn't want to upset me, but mentioned it anyway.

But seeing that we're just posting our opinions about cars in general, without wishing to upset anyone, I wouldn't be seen dead driving a Ford Focus Estate.
