+1. Is it me, or is that thing lower than a standard GT2/3 - no way is that going over a speed-bump, shirley!

Looks like it will be awesome...seriously tempted to get back in a 997GT2 once the values have settled down...can't help thinking they have a way to fall before they find their level and rate of depreciation levels off

90kg lighter? Wasn't there (very surprising) talk of 200kg only a few days ago? In my mind 200kg would be very difficult to get out of a GT2 unless you make some very expensive materials on pretty much everything - so 90 sounds far more realistic!

It will be 3.6 Mezger with manual box. 0-300kph in the quoted sub 25s is very fast, bit too fast for "just" 620PS, will be looking forward to road tests but my guess that is Porsche testing "their" minimum spec (lightweight) car on "their" test track.
Other recent 0-300kph Porsche let downs:

Carerra GT Porsche say 0-300kph in 27s tests say 34s

997GT2 Porsche say 0-300kph in 33s tests say 36s

Notice the side air intakes look different, this points towards some modified air intakes for supplying more air accross the intercooling cores which would be very necessary for maintaining 620PS.

There is talk of adaptive aerodynamics but it is hard to make out what this means from the pics....

the 90kg weight reduction apart from the obvious wheels and trim deletes includes:

Carbon bonnet
Carbon roof skin (rumour)
Aircon delete (14kg)
PCM delete (10kg)

Traction limited off the line but I would think this will spank a Turbo S once moving.

Techart - http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/...

Specialist Porsche tuner Techart has launched two new performance upgrade packs for the new 911 Turbo, one of which boosts power to 612bhp.

The Techart Performance Kit TA 097/T2 adds a new sports air filter, new manifolds, a custom sports exhuast system and a reprogrammed ECU to take power to 612bhp and torque to 605lb ft. This is up from the 493bhp and 479lb ft the standard car produces.

The additions also help lower the 911 Turbo's 0-62mph time from 3.6sec to 2.9sec. It can also manage the 0-124mph sprint in 9.3sec and can reach a top speed of 207mph.

The entry-level Techart Performance Kit TA 097/T1 takes power to 562bhp thanks to some ECU tweaks a new air filter. The 0-62mph time with this pack is cut to 3.2sec; the top speed is 201mph.

When will a tuning company, other than RUF, actually make a set of wheels that compliments a 911 and actually look better than stock? And, that is before starting on the abomination that most tuning bodykits turn these cars into.

GT2 RS is going to be one hell of a kick in the pants; it looks like Porsche have revived back the widowmaker.

0-124mph in 9.3s is simply incredible.... this must be with PDK.... this transmission is bringing times to the masses that until now were almost unimaginable !!

IIRC the official 0-124mph time for an Enzo was 9.5s, albeit the mag tests I can find seem to indicate low-mid 10's... and that has more power and less weight !!

I think you'll find that was from a US site where they talked about 200lbs - and someone then remisquoted it!
