996GT2 UK sales are as follows:

2001: 16
2002: 66
2003: 31
2004: 16 (MKII)

Total sales: 129 UK (Factory Clubsport: 16) Cars
Does that really mean that there was only 16uk registered factory clubsports in total? If thats true my 2003 clubsport is pretty rare, and i wonder how many are left now, also mines speed yellow so i wonder if we could find out how many cars in each colour were produced,in clubsport and comfort specs.
Also i'm really keen to see this registry and would like to be on board
cheers
Mine's a factory GT2 clubsport, M003 on option list (only way of telling - lots of converted wanabees around), so that makes 2 out of the 16. any more out there?
Yeah mines a genuine m003,seen a few in the for sale section saying clubsports lately but none are genuine,
Any more out there?
Yes mine is a 2002 speed yellow clubsport.

Was a bit busy last week so didn't make any progress.

Anyway, here's the list of fields I'll start with for each car:

VIN serial number
Model Year
Reg Year
Model (Comfort/CS)
Exterior Colour
Interior Colour
Current Location City
Current Location County
Current Location Country (exported?)
Factory Options list:
Known Modifications:
Known Damage/Repair history:
Pictures: images will be able to be tagged with a date and description

Haven't decided on a domain name. It needs to cover other models as well potentially and can't have any trademarks...

PORSCHE - PORSCHE CREST - PORSCHE DESIGN - CARRERA - TARGA - TIPTRONIC - VARIORAM - CVTIP - VARIOCAM - BOXSTER - CAYENNE - TEQUIPMENT - VARRERA - PCM - PAN AMERICANA - PORSCHE BIKE FS - 911 - PORSCHE INSURANCE - PORSCHE CENTRE - PORSCHE FINANCING.

Please be advised that Porsche will vigorously prosecute any unauthorized use.

Any ideas?

I made an executive decision to make it GT2 only as I'd rather build something comprehensive that's of use to people rather than a half hearted attempt at covering lots of cars. The software/database will be easily transferable if somebody wanted to run a GT3 version etc.

I've bought a domain name and have started on the site, more details to follow....

Out of interest, where did the production figures come from?

I'd heard 13 Mk2s, but perhaps that's 13 Comfies and 3 CS.

Sorry for the delay with this, been a bit busy.

I've got the domain and a basic design sorted out, I'm about half way through the rest of it.

I'm aiming to have something ready to start using in the next few weeks.

That wouldn't be the ex-Paul Stephens mk2 would it?! - can't be that many red, sub-5000 milers! From what I can see, no 996 GT2s have the 'GT2' script on the dials. Mine ( a mk1 clubbie) and the various press-car shots have no script and the PS demo (red mk2) did not have the script either. If yours is the PS car, congrats that car is awesome - Mr Cooke let me have a blast in it and that car confirmed to me that a GT2 was the way to go and that particular car was a lovely example.

yes thats the car and it is in lovely condition but i must admit i drove the metalic green one which was for sale in oxfordshire the ex hans rausing car and that seemed quicker or it might have been that i had never driven a gt2 before

Is it worth starting a Wiki on this in the meantime, just to ensure that the invaluable information is captured and not lost in history?

I have a small record of all the 996 GT2's currently in the UK and as far as I know there are about 60 cars remaining with the others having either recorded accident damage and are still on the road or have been written off.

The website that Gavin was creating is www.gt2db.co.uk.
