Steve rance, I've got a Gtr and a gt3rs gen 2 and have tracked them both extensively. I can catorgorically and empirically tell you that the former will spank the latter on any circuit! It will only do it for 15 mins though.
Ill take that bet . Name the track my 4.0 vs your GTR , we can make an event of it . Loser buys the pies ?

Thats interesting. Would you say that you are able to extract all of the performance of the GT3?Steve Rance said:

How would anyone know that unless they were the best GT3 driver in the world? What he appears to be saying is that using the same driver i.e. him, that one is faster than the other under similar conditions. That's as fair a comparison as you can realistically ask for. But I'll let him chime in to confirm that.

Lol, do you even remember how to drive old boy, it's been so long now..
GTR should kill a 3.6 around the ring with same drivers for sure (1 lap only though ) not sure about a 3.8, but I'd bet a st load it wouldn't beat a 4.0 around there.....you're living in cloud sushi land if you think so
Remember??? Of course not, that's why I have a GT-R, it does it all for me.GTR should kill a 3.6 around the ring with same drivers for sure (1 lap only though ) not sure about a 3.8, but I'd bet a st load it wouldn't beat a 4.0 around there.....you're living in cloud sushi land if you think so

If you remember at Silverstone, I was gaining on ken in his 3.8, but did not have anough to get past him down hanger straight. Not sure how you would rate his driving, but as you could see from the video my car was understeering very badly as the tyres were knackered.
My point was, get two inexperienced drivers and the GT-R will always win.
Get 2 top drivers, it would be very interesting for the first 8 minutes in an "09" model, 15 minutes in a "10" model and 20 in an "11" model
Harris already did the gt2 V gtr thing at the ring.... in the wet, and the gtr got spanked.
gt3rs 3.8 was timed 1sec quicker round the ring than the 2011 gtr by sport auto mag.... so anyone who thinks the 4.0l will be slower than the gtr on any circuit, let alone the ring, is onto a hiding for nothing.

so it's down to the drivers then.. saying that a gtr does most of the work for the pilot bar the steering.gt3rs 3.8 was timed 1sec quicker round the ring than the 2011 gtr by sport auto mag.... so anyone who thinks the 4.0l will be slower than the gtr on any circuit, let alone the ring, is onto a hiding for nothing.

For sure, to pilot a 911 quickly you need to have an operator familiar with the peculiarities of extracting the best out of it & more to the point, able to do so. To pilot a gtr quickly you just need to have limbs. Put an experienced driver familiar with extracting close to any given car's potential, on a circuit he knows inside out, and then the car's abilities matter more than the drivers - and in this case, Sport Auto shows very well the results.

I wont be able to play till september im afraid .
rma spa in october ?
spoil-sport, i heard your 4.0l was coming next week... tomorrow in factrma spa in october ?
lets just assume thats a win to the gtr shall we. Its not like a 1300kg 500hp quasi race car would have a chance against a 530hp 1700kg transformer anyway is it.....

I dont even like pies but Im willing to bet one . I think it will be quite close but no cigar . The moral victory will go to the GTR for its amazing bang for buck but the actual victory will go to the RS , I have no doubt of this ( and so it bloody should considering t costs twice as much ! ) .
Unlike some Porsche owners , i greatly admire the GTR for its sheer animal ferocity and pace ( even though its not for me ) . I remember my passenger lap in Kurgens car . I swear that on that day ANY CAR ON THIS EARTH would have been annihilated by that GTR . The sheer pace in the wet was astounding . That is an amazing achievement . I genuinely believe it has made Porsche and maybe even Ferrari / Lambo et all crank things up a notch or two and that can only be a good thing .
