I would like to think the same Saj, but VW have just announced they are pulling the V8 diesel from the Touareg due to slow sales. Whether Porsche shift enough V8 diesels to keep it alive or not is hard to tell, but my local OPC on Tuesday hinted that the V8 'might' be withdrawn for MY2015. Let's hope not. EU6 and time will tell.

Not sure but I think you will struggle with warranty work if you get it mapped, but I am unsure

Mine is coming upto 2 years old and 17K miles, if I had to change today yes I would get another, probably a V8, next time I am unsure, not because of the car but simply by them my daughter will be old enough to get her own car, and not sure I would need a kid carrier, but I do like SUV's, lets see time will tell

Enjoy yours in the best of health

Saj

I'd heard that for the V8 petrol, but not the V8 diesel.

Well our cayenne diesel which had a mid march build date, and was apparently completed on the 25th March still hasn't arrived..... Beginning to lose faith in the brand now :-(

Sorry to hear.

V6 or V8, and what's the dealer saying about the delay?

It's a v6 .... It has been lost twice and is apparat ly now in quality control being taken apart and checked which they do every so often...... Not convinced and it's been there for nearly 2 weeks but they can't give us any time scale when it will be released.......

It's probably been taken a major ding or something on it's way through Sheerness and has been sent back to Leipzig for some 'quality control' modifications.
Go over it with a fine toothed magnifying glass when it finally breaks cover.

I've seen in the workshop how they go over management and demo cars at the factory befor they are offered to the dealership network for sale S/H.
Very very through, almost better than new, I be happy to have one and I wouldn't worry about how any car is prep-ed before coming to the UK.

That's odd. I was given a build date, then a shipping date. They run an automated volume production line, a car can't be two weeks late. As other posters have said... It's probably fallen from the boat/transporter. Get the chassis number from the dealer and call Porsche GB in Reading.

My Diesel S just back from first service. 20'000 miles since July. £420 for oil and filter basically, with a free stamp in the book. They also recoded auto stop to be default off, and looked at (bit didn't fix) faulty Homelink that's never worked.

Wash, vac out, Diesel S loaner, nice coffee and biscuits, and that's it. Apparently 70% worn rears, last replaces around 13'000 miles, and 60% worn front pads. They kindly quoted me most of a King's ransom for replacement of those, and tried to sell me a service plan. No totty in the showroom these days either.

Best improvement has been coding the auto stop to not, err auto stop.

Service adviser tried to sell me 3 years/20K miles a year, £50 odd per month. I said it won't work for me, as I normally do 30k+ miles a year, but was away 3 months last year, hence mileage a bit low, so I'd use my 3 services before I'd paid for it ! He said I couldn't do that, and I replied, then it's no good for me, and could I have another coffee and more biscuits please !

Capristo on the Lambo, sorry forgot to reply to your previous post.

I've 21" and standard suspension. No issues from me. Dealer tried to sell the air but really no need.

Def get the electric taillift and servertronic steering - 2 things I didn't and regret it
Quote agree +1

Me I have just taken delivery of V8 diesel No air on 20" hell of a nice ride , what I expect from a sports big car . It seems there is about a 70 to 30 ratio of cars with out air to air ,

Bottom line after looking for two months is if you like big 21" wheels then air is a must , if you can live with 18" you will get the best ride with or without air and been told that by 5 different dealers .

20" with pasm is highly recommended , pano roof a must have and electric tailgate, rest will make no difference on resale day .

Remember, it's a sports SUV and if you want a bouncy ride go RR if you want to replace your 911 and family car then this it .

Only big negative it's a bit posh for the dog

Facelifted Cayenne details just announced.

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/paris-motor-show...

A bit disappointed with the improvements to the V6 diesel, seems they bottled out of the 300bhp engine and went with just a 16bhp and 12lb ft increase to the existing unit.

At least they've kept the V8 diesel! Good move as if this thread is anything to go by, if you're going to change from one of the early V6D it's got to be the V8 diesel next, and you would at least want the facelift. Overall pretty glad we grabbed one of the last Platinum editions as this is 50 base and I'm not sure how many of the platinum extras are standard.
