New Porsche Cayenne Diesel

At least they've kept the V8 diesel! Good move as if this thread is anything to go by, if you're going to change from one of the early V6D it's got to be the V8 diesel next, and you would at least want the facelift. Overall pretty glad we grabbed one of the last Platinum editions as this is 50 base and I'm not sure how many of the platinum extras are standard.
swopped my UK 4.2d for a Macan....big mistake got a new one 4.2d coming on .launch day, only 1 or 2 Mpg, if any at difference in MPG over the 3.0d, and yet 9.10s of the performance of the Turbo.Cobnapint said:

A bit disappointed with the improvements to the V6 diesel, seems they bottled out of the 300bhp engine and went with just a 16bhp and 12lb ft increase to the existing unit.
Seems nice, would need to see in flesh, yes agreed not much of a performance upgrade , but I do like the steering wheel.http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/paris-motor-show...

Not enough to tempt me, will wait a couple of years to the new model
My car has just touched 20K miles, and not missed a beat

Feeling quite smug about buying a Platinum Edition diesel at a decent discount now. I would have been a bit peeved if I'd waited for the facelift, hoping for the Panamera spec V6 diesel.
After a recent 2000 mile round trip to the south of France, I'm pleasantly surprised by the performance of the baby diesel. I had no problem with a lot of overtaking on the Route Napoleon, even fully loaded with family and luggage; sport mode kept it nicely in the peak power/torque range, and the SUV visibility really helped in picking safe spots to overtake on bendy roads. It even managed 36mpg average for the whole trip, including plenty of "not hanging about" and lots of urban pootling on the Cote d'Azur :-)
Having said all of that, I'm not sure I'll be able to resist the lure of a 400bhp+ hybrid when they bring out the 3rd generation Cayenne in 2017 or thereabouts!

130g/km CO2 is averaged, CO/NOx is for individual vehicles. New type approvals have to meet Euro 6 CO/NOx from January 2015; all newly-registered cars have to meet it from September 2015, as far as their own documents appear to say.
not up iodate....but whatever...no interest. NomduJour said:

So why respond? Or are you just a prick?Edited by APOLO1 on Thursday 24th July 14:39
So which bit is incorrect? After 31st August 2015, you won't be able to register a new diesel car with existing type approval which doesn't meet Euro 6 (or if it's a new model, type approved from 1st September 2014, after 31st December 2014).
REGULATION EC No 715/2007 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL

"With effect from 1 September 2015, and from 1 September 2016 in the case of category N1 class II and III and category N2 vehicles, national authorities shall, in the case of new vehicles which do not comply with this Regulation and its implementing measures, and in particular with the Euro 6 limit values set out in Table 2 of Annex I, consider certificates of conformity to be no longer valid for the purposes of Article 7(1) of Directive 70/156/EEC and shall, on grounds relating to emissions or fuel consumption, prohibit the registration, sale or entry into service of such vehicles"

Gaining an exemption (e.g. phase-in for "smaller" manufacturers, end of series for vehicles already built) does not make the rules factually incorrect in any way - they are still the rules, unless a specific exemption applies.Like I said old info, factually incorrect....

Your attitude suggests that you are still the prick.

you will recall that you said, that the 4.2D is only around until next Sep. This is factually incorrect. In fact it is going into other platforms well after this time...Your attitude suggests that you are still the prick.
