Sounds great Fokker. My 997 has PASM - it is great on the twisties. It will be a long wait until 2017 But will enjoy the 997 in the meantime.

My air cooled early 911s do this all the time (freezing cold in traffic, then you put the foot down and the cabin turns into a sauna) but I've never witnessed it in the Cayenne. I'd have a dealer look at it because that doesn't seem normal at all.

Nope here too, and I don't even have the climate on. Sounds like you have some moisture getting in somewhere, check your front floor mats.

Not sure if it's the same issue as yours, but I've been getting a lot of condensation on the inside of the windscreen and rear window. Actually takes a long time to clear. As its spirit to just those two windows, not sure if it could be to do with the fact I've just started to use the heated windscreen in the last few weeks.

Thanks guys. Our other cars don't need the A/C on even when raining and still don't mist up. Noticed the rear misting too.

Think we will send back to Hatfield. Am worried they charged for unblocking of drains but maybe didn't actually do it...

This is the paradox. I'd love a V8d myself, especially now it's EU6, just for the torque hit. But I know my V6d has all the performance I need in day to day traffic without making yourself look a lunatic.

And like you say, it's likely the V6 Cayenne will get the Panny lump, and to maintain the gap, the V8 will get the new 430bhp lump that's going in the SQ7.

I shall do a little probing at the next OPC launch evening in December.

Thanks for pointing that out. I distinctly remember that link didn't work when I was putting my spec together, perhaps VAG have sweetened their finance since the scandal?

I would think its bound to. The Macan GTS has it now so i would think from beginning of next year or as soon as they run out of PCM3 they'll start to add it to all new cars…

What's the general view on seats? Overall I'm looking for comfort over long (3hr+) motorway drives and need some lumbar support. I've ruled out the 'standard' 8 way seats favouring the 18-way adaptive sports seats (when I can find one with all the other options I want) or the compromise of 14-way memory comforts?

We specced the 18 way sports, they are very good.

BUT, make sure you try them before you buy. They are a tight fit on me on the widest setting, but wife is OK. If you are 'large', they will be difficult to sit in.

We have cars with both (18 & 14) and found that the sport seats have bolsters that don't wear well and hinder entry/exit.
The sport seats look a lot better and are a tighter fit, so they provide more support in corners, but that's a bit pointless unless you are going to track your Cayenne Diesel.
Overall I prefer the 14-way seats for comfort and day-to-day usability. I once drove 600 miles non-stop and felt no discomfort or sweat. Seat ventilation set to 1/3 and heating also set to 1/3 to cancel out the slight chilling effect of the ventilation, perfect.

Get them bought! I've got the 18-way's with memory, heating, Porsche crest and ventilation and they are superb. I wouldn't bother with ventilation if spec'ing a brand new Cayenne (I was lucky to find a used car with big spec) but would deffo only buy a car with 18's again. Mine have 75k miles on them now and still look as good as new.

Thanks chaps. I'm looking at a pre-owned but finding one with 18-way seats, Xenons and PASM/Air as a minimum is getting frustrating. Somethings got to give, PASM/Air non negotiable so it's either lose the Xenon option or go with 14-way

I bought a 2013 V6 Diesel with 54,000 miles 9 days ago to replace my 2004 Petrol V8S. Loving it so far having just clocked up 1000 miles which included a trip to the Race of Rembrance last weekend. Superb Porsche. Mine has the 14 way comfort memory seats and air suspension which is a big improvement in comfort over it's predecessor.

Agree completely I have the 18 ways, best seats I have ever had in a car and would spec again, no ventilation and I am quite a big chap and they fit me just perfect, cars only done 29K miles and wearing very well

Just remembered did a short write up on page 28 of this thread, on the seats, time flies

Note the back seat gets raised bolsters too when you go for the 18 way's, however I frequently ferry 3 teenage kids around with no problems

I sat in both before buying and the real issue is the getting in and out of the sports seats with the raised driving position. The bolsters take a hammering on both and with the sports seats having a higher, more aggressive bolster as swinging you leg in out out it always catches the bolster, this would wear I fear especially if soft (full) leather. Just something to take into account.

I drive my as it should be driven and the standard seats are plenty supportive enough and never find myself rolling about in them like you would in say a non sport x5 seat. Superb very comfortably support seats.

Saj - You've got the perfect spec (and then some) for me! When you selling?

If anyone of you is looking to part with your 2010-13 V6 air/PASM 14-way (ideally 18-way) seats, Xenons drop me a PM. If you've got thsoe extras I suspect you've got most of the other stuff I'd want. If I cant find one before Christmas I'll probably leave an interest with my local OPC who will no doubt take their wedge.

Another vote for 18-ways here! Yes, you have to kinda get used to getting in and out of them without rubbing the bolster too much and they're not essential in terms of holding you in, but out of the cars I sat in before I bought they're the single most tactile thing that make the car feel special. Went on the Porsche day at silverstone and the demo car had 14-ways, they were fine in as much as I didn't notice anything good or bad about them, but that's the point, they're forgettable and do nothing to contribute to the driving experience like the 18-ways do. Glad it was a box that I ticked!!
