Any recommendations for suppliers of rubber mats for front footwells as Porsche don't supply - I know they look naff but not as naff as muddy carpets after walking the hound.
Have a look at Covertec I think ou have to order them from the States

PS anyone know where I can get very high quality velour mats, h original Porsch n
Mats are very dissapointing

Thanks for the full report, I will look forward to a day out. Would you recommend booking ASAP or wait till you've had the car a while or dosen't it matter. Mine is due for collection in about 10 days so the long wait since February is almost over and the excitement is building!
I don't think it matters, entirely your choice. If your instructor is Neil, he knows his beans, he goes all over the world off- roading in places like Namibia and Russia.
The steep bits on the Silverstone 'off-road' course are, tbh, made of concrete, so Porsche are perhaps cheating a bit here with its description, but I promise you'll enjoy the day and the car will still amaze you.

Don't forget to go over your new toy like a scene of crime officer before you leave the showroom, you remeber what happened to me...

and what colour and wheels did you go for...?

Thanks for info and reminder - will definitely give it full scrutiny. After much deliberation I went for 20" Spyder wheels and was very boring/safe with colours and chose black interior and exterior (I should be popular at funerals - that's if I have time to go cos I will probably be cleaning wheels!)

Thanks. Unfortunately they don't produce them for the Cayenne at the moment which is a shame as they would have been ideal.

It's important to have a rubber type mat which is odourless as I don't much like the smell of rubber and it would be sacrilege to spoil the wonderful smell of a new car interior. They should bottle it.

Will advise when I find something.

Thats the main reason I went with the Turbo II's, they're probably the easiest wheels I've ever cleaned.

That's interesting as have just bought a set through Hatfield OPC for GBP 115 which they had in stock. Haven't seen them yet but should do the trick.

Initially I was after tailored rubber mats which Porsche don't offer as an accesory and nor, as far as I am aware, do Weather Tech for RHD vehicles. I understand that Porsche UK have just started offering rubber Floor Liners. Haven't seen them and will be interested in your thoughts when you pick them up. Would probably prefer a mat as that is what I have used in the past and they seem less obtrusive but am considering the Floor Liners subject to seeing them next time I am at OPC.

I bought them over email with OPC, requesting "mats". Will see in a few weeks what turns up when I go to the OPC and will let you know.

After a 7 month wait I am sure you can all imagine how much I am looking forward picking up my new Cayenne tomorrow. Looks like a nice sunny day to go for a drive too.

Apart from the great advice to go over the car like a CSI agent, is there anything I should ask the guys at the OPC to show and explain to me in detail. Is there anything you got home and wished you had had explained more clearly or is it best just to sit down read the info and play withe gizmos?

Thanks

I would get them to set the display car display on right hand side LCD screen as its a bit confusing, other than that enjoy the day, weather I think is fine in most places so you could not ask for a better day.

Enjoy in the best of health, and if I see no photos it did not happen !! LOL

Good luck

Thanks.

Think I'll take a leisurely drive from Reading along the Thames, stop for lunch in Goring and see where the road takes us after that!

Why is it ,that the day before you pick up a new car, friends insist on telling you about the people they knew who wrote their car off pulling out of the garage! smile

Burmester® High-End Surround Sound System

Against

The USB slot should have supported higher resolution music through the Burmester, I would like some control over the midrange frequencies.

Price, well for the performance very good value for money, to get an equivalent performance at home will cost you at least double the amount, if not more.
Thanks for that, Saj - really useful insight!

Leatherne Bottle or The Boathouse in Moulsford will be lovely on a day like today!

Think I might go for The Leatherne Bottel - perfect for sitting out at lunchtime and I can sit nice and close to my new pride and joy and shout at anyone who walks with 10 feet! smile

Have taken note to have them set the display!

Good choice. If you can sit at the edge of the river that place is just pure magic!

While not wanting to turn this into a restaurant review site I have to agree. It is my favourite restaurant in the whole world on a sunny day. Being able to sit on the edge of the river in glorious and peaceful surroundings and enjoy a drink or a whole (exceptionally good quality) meal is heaven. If anyone lives within reach and hasn't tried it, it is magical place on a sunny day.

When I was at the OPC picking up my new car I took a look at the Porsche mats and they are just fine. They are not floor-liners as I was advised, at least not what I would describe as floor-liners, they are mats with a small lip to hold any liquid. These tailored rubber mats were fine for my requirements and I bought a set. They’re not cheap but then they do say ‘Porsche’ on each mat.
