Thanks for the advice on the tailgate Cobnapint..... think you are right. These wheels... beautiful that they are take some cleaning...It's not that they are difficult to clean but just take a bit longer than I would have liked. Glad I went into it eyes wide open knowing they would be a pain to clean. I couldn't decide if the 19's worked on the car or not and budget wouldn't run to the 21's so it was 20's just to keep them at a size that would aid resale... that's if I ever want to get rid of it.
Agreed - they take time to clean but do look good and supposedly have the advantage of providing better grip in the Winter. See page 37 of this thread where Saj recommends some time saving solutions. Haven't tried the sealant yet as waiting for the polish to wear off but will definitely do so. Rocky Road said:

Are you suggesting bigger wheels are better in bad conditions? If so, you need to watch some rally cars in the snow....
Just the opposite, I'm saying that the 20 inch wheels are better in bad conditions than the easy to clean 21 inch wheels.Just saw these if any use to anyone...

strange. would have thought an OPC would have had that - implies it has been serviced late or out of the network.
Not worthy of the Porsche network is all I can think ofSaj

Well ours needs to get a wiggle on, the Beemer it replaces goes on Saturday!
I was in exactly the same boat about 7 months ago sold my car, and Cayenne was a few weeks away, and then the waitCars built first email
Car at port, they wait until the boat is full before it set sails, this can be time consuming
Then more time at sea, then cars awaiting collection etc, and then delivery to dealer, after which if you have asked the dealer to do anything apart from the norm etc so I would hazard a guess from being told car is built, I would ad another 2-3 weeks.
Just my thoughts
Saj
ps so what option to have a write up on next ???????

I managed to get the Dash compass chucked in on ours - final negotiating point when I had pushed on discount as far as they would go. I like it as it breaks the dash up a bit and is a clock too unlike the useless stopwatch we had on the 997..

Thanks. It was built early last week. Dealer predicted week 2, so hope to hear more this week or beginning next.

What sort of discount did you end up with ? Would you mind giving me an indication. I'm about to push the button on a Cayenne Diesel S (New V8 diesel), and they will hardly budge at all.I managed to get the Dash compass chucked in on ours - final negotiating point when I had pushed on discount as far as they would go. To be fair, I think they have the upper hand a bit more on an S. I got about a grand off, and quite an improvement in the monthly (PCP) but over £100 from their starting point. They cant get enough allocation, so it's a tough negotiating starting point!
Good luck!
Cheers fella.. Local Porker centre (who scratched old Cayenne in 2008 and I ended up in litigation with) won't budge. Centre en route up north have been very frank and said 2.5 % off. Just need to bottom out spec, I'm up at £30K of options ! Base has no sat nav, heated seats, xenons, parking sensors etc.. That's £10K for a start... Good luck!
Like you say they have the upper hand, and both stealers say they have taken three orders already.

Well the 3 series just left - private sale, so that was nice rather than a trader making money out of it.
Cayenne should be ready to collect next Friday!
Have a detailer getting it waxed up the following Monday. He's in therapy about non metallic black
