Hi folks. Presume, and hope, that everybody is still having trouble free CD motoring.

Mines just coming up for it's major 40K service. The OPC has quoted discounted prices (10% off and inc vat) of £480 for the service, £465 for new front pads, and £899 for new pads AND discs (not that the discs need doing yet).

A local Porsche indy (using OEM parts) has said £312 for the service, and £192 for the pads.

So that's a difference for the service and pads of £441 smackers. Do you think, come part exchange time, the fact that a non OPC stamp has contaminated the service book would have any real effect on what they're going to offer?
Can't remember was yours a V8 ?

Mines at 38K now, will have to look at service soon.

As previous posts, I had a lot of cocking around with this ticking. OPC said it was pads and insisted I replace them. They was plenty of life left in them, but they had a big crack across the pad. They discounted pads from £249 to £140 and charged me 0.9 hours to change them at £86.40. All plus VAT. First 20K service was £420. Only difference between 20K and 40K service is pollen filter, unless you're at 2 years old now and having a fluid change ?

As others said, I'd stick with OPC at the moment..... Ask me again however in another 2 years and then at 90K ....

Mines a V6, and the OPC threw in the brake fluid change on the 20k service instead of offering a discount.

Hi all, can I just check with owners if xenon headlights were standard on the MY2012 cayenne diesel?

Also, is there any way to confirm if a late 2011 car is indeed the 245bhp version ?

I don't believe xenon lights were standard at all on the diesels...perhaps on the GTS/Turbo's?? Feels rather stingy of Porsche - a bit like the lack of auto-dim mirrors on lots of the cars I went to see frown

Thanks... I understand that the cornering Xenons may have been an option, but I thought 'basic' xenons may have been standard. When I run a search the Porsche approved used car locator, ticking the box for "bi-xenon" headlights doesn't change the short-list of cars.

Basic xenon lights didn't become standard on the 958.1 Cayenne Diesel until the run-out Platinum Edition. When I was looking at used Cayennes, I was amazed how many people weren't willing to pay for something that brings such a huge safety benefit to night-time driving. Just one of the reasons I bought a brand new one; I love my steering PDLS headlamps :-)

On a different note, I should say we just got EIGHTY SIX pecent of what we paid for our V6 Cayenne at 2 years old from a Porsche Dealer... Amazing and backs up the fact the Cayenne is the lowest deprciating car in the UK.

Thanks for clarifying Pete. Must be a glitch in the used-car search function. Am looking at a car with a decent spec (PASM, Bose, full leather, etc) but xenons not specified.

Shame as I like the rest of the car but don't really want one without xenons.

Is there a way to spot xenons (wishful thinking that maybe they just forgot to mention xenons on the spec list)

Thanks edo... Has the same projection headlight, but no washer, so I guess not.

What's the general feeling - xenons essential or a nice-to-have?

Presume i can't just swap out the headlights with xenon versions ?

Happy with mine. Gotta be better than Halogens.

I suppose it depends how much night driving you do.

I never felt our 2012 was lacking, but to be the fair the new one with the all singing adaptive LED lights are amazing - but they ps off the rest of the road users something chronic!

I've noticed that on the motorway recently at night. You can see flashes of blue in your rear view mirror in the distance, making you think there's one of the emergency services making progress through the traffic. Then when it comes past, a 64 plate something or other with LEDs fitted.

That settles it then! smile

Purchase is a go!

On a serious note - all our recent cars have had xenons. Shame not to get them but not a show stopper by any means.

If you don't mind me asking does that include extras or was that base price 86%? and was it low mileage, that's amazingly good!

Apologies, one more question:

I've seen various views on the Luxor Beige interior (causing windscreen glare, etc).

Is the "black smooth finish" interior much nicer than "Luxor Beige Standard" ?

Including, but we kept it relatively light. It was a V6d with PCM Nav, Phone, heated seats, multifunction steering wheel, USb and a few other bits and bobs. Only did 16,500. so mileage was low, but even so, losing less than VAT in 2 years cant be sniffed at!
