New Porsche Cayenne Diesel

Has anyone had their sat nav updated to 7-digit postcodes and the 2015 maps? If so how much. length of time and is it beneficial to do?
I had the 7 digit postcode updated in July and cost £150 on a 2012 Cayenne, 2015 maps may cost you more but do you really need it? Depends on how old your current maps and the majority of the roads haven't really changed. Koln-RS said:
When is the all new Cayenne due? I thought it was this year?
Due to be announced in late 2016 is what I was told, a year after its Bentayga brother. It's remarkable that they updated the PCM now. I suppose it does make sense as all other models have switched over to the new version and the "old" Cayenne has another solid year of production left.
The Macan's was also updated mid-cycle.

Yes, it helps keep Cayenne sales on the boil until the new one appears in 12 months.
HMMMM, 12 months, mine will need a change by then me thinks !!!Saj
Need it to happen before April 2017 so we don't get stiffed by the £310 x 5 years new road tax supplement which come in for cars over £40k...! Thanks George.
So, long time now, no posting in this thread. I've been enjoying my 2013 Diesel S, that has continued to be a joy. Until a couple of weeks ago. I started to get what felt like a misfire under load. Previous to this the V8 was super silky smooth and torquey. Misfire on a diesel ?!?! Yep, only under load, and only when warm. Gentle acceleration from about 20MPH in 3rd, or WOT from about 60MPH, felt just like a dodgy plug lead on a petrol. No black smoke, no warning lights. A chum got in the car and said it felt as if there was a tooth missing on the diff or planetary gears, not the motor.
Gradually got worse, booked into OPC. When out for test drive with the technician, he said 'it's the transfer box'. Not uncommon, needs new box. Apparently there's an electronic clutch that distributes the power between front and rear, that begins to slip, causes ECU confusion, and it feels like a misfire. Not sure that the full explanation, as there's no where the torque can escape to surely, as I understand it's a regular diff in the middle with planetary gears but additional electronic LSD type action. Said they've done several diesel V6s, no V8s yet. Sometimes after just 20K miles (mines just at 60K). There's now a modified transfer box. They don't fix it, just swap the box out for new.
They did lend me quite a funky Golf GTD DSG, that handles like a taut go kart. Great thing to tool around in for a couple of days...

The 'misfire' feel is the clutch pack grabbing in the transfer case; the clutch is applied in a staccato fashion instead of ramping up smoothly; a new modified unit sorts it. I've seen a few V8 in both petrol and diesel with the issue. An easy fix.
Magic, thanks for the info !Glenncakeman said:
I have a 2015 Diesel S, and must admit, sometimes while in gear get an unexpected 'clunk' through the gearbox. Very rare and not been able to reproduce it, hope it doesn't turn into this.
I think that's a different issue, I get the same, and have done with most 4X4s. I think your issue is just play in the drivetrain. I can provoke it on the Cayenne if backing up an incline, then selecting drive promptly and pulling away. I guess there's a bit of drive line wind up, then a bit of play as it takes up tension in the opposite direction. Clunking when changing up through the gears I would suggest is abnormal however.I've had, and it still remains, a ticking from the front hubs on low speed maneuvering. Sound like worn CVs, or like the front bearing issue on C6 RS6s. OPC tell me it's standard to model, and is brake backplates resonating, made worse as I have PCCBs. That explanation sound like bks.
Xfer box update :- New box in, still awaiting some cross member stretch bolts, so the car is still in bits.

I have PCCB also. Ever got stoned caught between the back plates and the discs ?, oh the noise !! They're terribly designed imo.
