Anyone else receive the safety recall on their Cayenne? Something to do with the "circlip on bearing bracket for pedals". Letter reports a 30minutes check.
Yep. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/vw-toua...sajafzal said:

If this car was around when I was in my late 20's I know I would have liked it

Seriously quick, but am too old for that type of power, as far as the car goes, very nice, but I would never get one, just too small for me, from the thinner centre console to the doors up against my arms etc. and the fit and finish just not upto a Cayenne

I've tried a couple of Macans, and really liked them. Bit smaller than a Cayenne if space is key, but definitely not cramped. And finish and build just as good as any other Porsche. The quality comes from the level of spec and options. If this car was around when I was in my late 20's I know I would have liked it

Had recall today. They are checking to see if the circlip is missing or not. My OPC has had just one so far out of all those checked (how many that is, I don't know).
Also had 45 minutes to myself in a black Macan S Diesel on 21's with air.
Very nice indeed. Ride quality, steering, handling and performance, all brilliant as expected. The new PCM is superb too, with better graphics and much improved reversing camera resolution.
I didn't have any issues with arm room (you need to lay off the spinach for a bit Saj) or build quality, which was easily up there with the Cayenne.
I wasn't that impressed with the pdk, there seems to be a slight hesitation from step off. It's fine on the open road but I still prefer the 8 speed slush in the Cayenne, it's nearly as quick these days and suits this type of vehicle better.
You also lose the impression of sitting high up in the Macan. It may only be a few inches lower but it feels a lot more and rather defeats the object of buying an SUV in the first place.
It feels much more car-like to drive than the Cayenne and had I driven it without the Cayenne ever existing then I wouldn't have held back. But as things stand, the pepper is still king in my opinion.
ETA..they reliably inform me that the next gen Cayenne has encountered a few delays and can now be expected late 2017.

If true, Porsche will be selling the new Platinum Edition for a lot longer than they normally do.....Edited by Cobnapint on Tuesday 26th April 21:26

Looks like 20" Satin Spyder wheels and GTS sports seats (but still 8-way), PDLS, Bose as standard compared to the pre-facelift Platinum plus the usual stuff like privacy glass, crested seats. Not sure if some of that became standard anyway on the facelift, but overall looks like cracking value especially given it will have the latest PCM.

Yes, my ears pricked up, so to speak, at this Platinum release, which would normally be something that signifies the imminent death of an existing model.http://www.motor1.com/news/62423/porsche-cayenne-p...
