Well that's all folks. My GTS is sold and goes in the morning. It's a wonderful car and a joy to drive but the combination of lack of use together with sickening depreciation were making me feel uneasy.
Now looking for a mint 993 C2S or C4S - I fear the search could take some time.

Funny how a lot of 997's in my area (Chelsea) are vanishing... could it be the owners are all vain and changing to 991's???! correct...

I was under the impression, wrongly or rightly that the GTS was somewhat of a classic-to-come. A beautiful white one was unloaded at Wilmslow today.

They're a great used buy now. It just depends on your needs and circumstance.

holy thread resurection!
whats the view fo the porsche community on the GTS now they are hitting the 60k mark. Im very tempted to chop in our Carrera 4 cab manual for one. I should really have bought one in the first place but like many feared the depreciation.

But I have never owned a car for more than 18 months, and after 18 months in the GTS I have absolutely no desire to change it!

Sport Plus still scares the crap out of me after 18 months. The only reason I would change is that I quite like the more GT look of the 991 interior. Once the new GT3 or Turbo come out I may be tempted (providing work is going well).

Interesting, thanks for your feedback, so maybe another 6-12 months then. I actually thought they represented pretty good value at 62k for cars with 1-2 thousand miles. Ill have a look at 991 pricing as well as i seem to have automatically disregarded them as being too pricey.

The GTS is an amazing 997 but the 991 has really moved the game on. I guess the problem for the GTS is that buyers at £60k will be in a position to find the extra £5k for the newer model. At £50k, the GTS would appeal to me, perhaps in Spring?

I am just coming up to 18,000 miles in mine, anyone else piling on the miles? Still love it to bits.

I am at 12000 but had a three month break from driving due to a broken ankle and missed the summer fun on a positive note off to camp 4s next year. Can't wait to learn how to drive on ice!! The excitement of the GTS has not worn off at all. I have no desire to change which is very rare!!
