I agree. The Glossglockner high Alpine Road is awesome. Privately run with track like surface quality. I love its wide sweeping turns where you can push a bit unlike the 1st gear narrow hairpins of the Stelvio. No wonder it costs 34.50 EUR for a few Kms.
Guess you have been there but for those who haven't been there it's web site is: http://www.grossglockner.at/en/
Glad you liked the GT2.
Sorry to diverge slightly but I had no idea some of the passes were private, I thought the vignette got you everywhere. Are there many more?Guess you have been there but for those who haven't been there it's web site is: http://www.grossglockner.at/en/
Glad you liked the GT2.

If you do not drive on the Autobahn, you don't need a vignette, same as Switzerland.

The Nok is beautiful scenery but a bit narrow and you can't really cane it like you can Grossglockner
so many amazing roads in Austria, I think the 27+L133 to Kleinzell is possibly my most favourite road ever

Can't wait for next May when we leave again for a trip of 8 days and see the start of the MM.

Hi,They're usually privately operated that's why there is a toll not covered by the state Vignette. But it's well worth it IMO.
These are few I know:
Silvretta Pass: http://www.silvretta-bielerhoehe.at/silvretta-hoch...
Gerlos Alpine Road: http://www.gerlosstrasse.at/en/gerlos-alpenstrasse...
Timmelsjoch: http://www.timmelsjoch.com/en/content/10004/rates+...
Nockalms Alpine Road: http://www.nockalmstrasse.at/en/preise/
Villach Alpine Road: http://www.villacher-alpenstrasse.at/en/preise/
There also some toll tunnels that are not covered by Vignettes such as Great St Bernard Tunnel and the rather expensive Mont Blanc Tunnel (41 EUR one way).
I'm sure there are more.

Came out of a coffee shop here in sunny Cape Town to see this old Volkswagen parked up close behind my own car. I thought they looked a little bit cool together. I never noticed before that the colours in the rear lamps are sort of in the same order.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the headlamp from the Beetle fitted directly into an (early 70s I think) 911. PTT said:
