thanks re the SD. So where did you have the GPS aerial mounted? I am planning to put one of these in my 993.

Under the rear parcel shelf, in a 993, works a treat!!

Boing hehe

I'm interested in one of these units for my 928, is there any more experience knocking about now these have been available for a little while?

I'm not that fussed about how it sounds or even to an extent how it works, but what does bother me is that all the pictures I've seen of it fitted show it protruding from the dash, which has been mentioned here.

Is this a 911 specific fitting problem (that wouldn't apply to a 928 with no obstructions to the screen movement directly above or below the head unit), or is it just the way that this unit sits?

I think its a 993 thing, not sure how it would look in a 928, I'm sure your local OPC could give you more info and may be able to show you how it might fit. Exeter quoted about £750 fitted.

Thanks for the response! I'll probably give Reading a shout as I know a few people there.

I thought with the big flat dials and little buttons it'd fit in quite well with the 928's 70's dash, particularly if I can touch over the chrome details.

hi
and my first log in to piston heads. i love my 928 but have always had an issue with the stereo. so fitting this Porsche classic radio is quite interesting to me. will it fit? does it stick out from the dash? what mods or extra wiring are required. any advise would be appreciated.

The new classic navigation system has been redesigned and styled, plus Europe design , possible manufacture , blaupunkt architecture, now fits dashboards correctly, no flip front any more to bind up. Serious price tag but now looks the part and should perform? Check Porsche.com for latest unit spec and pictures!

Looks great. Not sure such a small screen is of much use. Does it have the right connections at the back for the original amplifier under the seat etc?

I have the older version of the Porsche Classic. Anyone know how to sync mobile phone via bluetooth?
