The NI car has been on the market with that dealer for at least 6 months. Not sure why it hasn't shifted given mileage and spec... Looks great in Guards red. Decent price if it checks out.
More like 12 months and they have dropped price significantly on it - agree great buy if it checks out.Shurv said:
I think this is one that has been sat unused for a number of years, and thus not had a service in that time. Wouldn't bother me, it looks amazing in guards red. A goodly level of re commissioning and new tyres and it'd be a great car.
I spoke to the owner of the dealership yesterday - confirmed that service history is not OPC and it certainly needs a thorough inspection. They agreed to a sale (I offered to leave a refundable deposit), they agreed to the inspection/sale, but haven't returned my calls since. Will update in due course. Kananga said:

Don't go to the opc go to george mcmillan. Theres no one either side of the water that knows more about Porsche, there's a good chance he may even have inspected it for someone else. http://www.mcmillanporsche.com

Very best of luck with that..really hope it does all check out and any work that may be needed is minimal. Cracking car and guards red is a lovely colour.
Thanks for the message sir! Am hoping it does check out, but beginning to wonder if they used my offer to shop around for a better bid on the car. Just odd that they never called back, despite me chasing a couple of times. Wonder if that's why the owner didn't take my deposit, despite me offering to leave it? Hopefully I'm just being paranoid but will try them again today...irish boy said:

Many thanks for the feedback - will call McMillan this morning. I have no experience with OPC Belfast, so your advice is much appreciated! I understand the car has had some repair work carried out so really needs to be seen by someone who will give it a thorough inspection.http://www.mcmillanporsche.com
Just saw they've put the price up to £41k!! Will be interesting to see if they honour our agreement or not....
Not sure it is worth £41k if I'm honest considering the history and need for a major service. Anyway, let's see what the owner of the dealership (who agreed the sale with me) says on Monday....

If you've not already seen it, you may want to read this thread:Not sure it is worth £41k if I'm honest considering the history and need for a major service. Anyway, let's see what the owner of the dealership (who agreed the sale with me) says on Monday....

Yup - did some internet checking before I made the offer.
Let's see what they say on Monday. As the other thread suggests, the salesman Paul seemed a v decent chap.
Will be interesting to see what the owner says tomorrow. For me it is all about the inspection.
However, I did worry when I read the comments about Morgan Cars made by M7NRD: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Had a call back earlier today. All sorts of confusing and contradictory messages. Began by saying they'd honour the price we agreed, and by the end of the conversation it seemed that someone had viewed the car on Saturday and arranged an inspection tomorrow.... So I asked if it was sold, and was told it wasn't ?!
By the end of the call I was totally and utterly confused. But the price is £41k (apparently a bargain as "it would easily sell for £45k") and they would require a deposit which is non-refundable, even in the event that the inspection uncovers a serious issue. Apparently they are gonna get back to me (once again).
Not holding my breath. A shame that they couldn't just be straight with me. Especially after acknowledging that i was the first person to leave an offer in good faith - subject to inspection. At the very least just offer first refusal instead of jerking me around.
