Sadly its more likely that 7 turbos will move down than 6 turbos will move up, not in the next 3-5 years anyway.
Why do you say that?I'd have thought with 996 Turbos becoming quite old and the 997 Turbo becoming more affordable, the 997 will be the choice of those with money to spend. Whilst they are both very capable, the 997 interior is a much nicer place to sit in.
I think 996 T's will settle around the £20-£25k mark for a decent one with history and the 997 T's will sit around the late £30k's early £40k's for a while yet.

Staggering value for the performance on offer.
You have got me looking at them now! I hate the standard blingy wheels but hey, that can be sorted.

Couldn't agree more about the wheels. Does anyone know if the GT2 alloys are a straight swap? You have got me looking at them now! I hate the standard blingy wheels but hey, that can be sorted.

You need to have a word with yourself, don't hide behind the computer giving it large.....
I was talking about the GT2 and the rarity/numbers.
With regards to getting a 6T for 18k, you need to keep off the grass, or if this is the case sell the TVR and borrow 14k to pay for it.

Bog standard C2 with high miles, though the warranty is a bonus.
So you think sub-20k isn't cheap for a 997 with decent provenance? Be interested to know what you consider to be cheap.Thom987 said:
It is the bottom end of the market. Well specced 3.8s with less miles are still around the 30k mark, some in to the mid 30s. They seem to be holding their value well. In most cases you get what you pay for.
I was just providing an example of a cheap 997. There are plenty sub 25k examples. When the 991 comes out no doubt there will be plenty more. It's quite amazing just how much top end tin has been hit these past few years.Everything is dropping like a stone because of the market, it happened in the last credit crunch and we have a dip now. Prices firmed up in 2010 and they probably will when things get better in the economy. Have a look at new R8 Spyders dropping like the proverbial bomb. Main dealers are stuffed with demo's that they cant shift. I was offered a 119k car for 78k last week.

I dont think we will see prices of performance cars firming up any time soon. 2012 is set to be a very hard year and I can only see prices going one way. There are buyers out there that want these cars of course, just not enough to keep prices firm! Supply is exceeding demand.
There are odd exceptions of course.

991 is showing the way. Cars are available now from a number of dealers free supply and factory order is delivery in March!
Whilst their aren't many speculators, those who have deposits to make money are going to take a bath on this one.
I couldnt agree more. A £90k+ Carrera S is going to be a very expensive ownership proposition. Probably the highest of any 911 ever.Whilst their aren't many speculators, those who have deposits to make money are going to take a bath on this one.
