This is exactly the car I'd like. Certainly rather own one than the 991 RS. Be pleased with an RS 4.0 too, but the original 996 is just great. Brilliant buy. Here's a picture of my lad trying one out for size at last year's Silverstone auction.

Into my 4th year of ownership of my 996 Turbo, and still love it! What a fantastic car, just returned from The Black Mountains, doing the trail/mountain marathon, and loved the 5 hour drive to Brecon, blasting round the deserted twisty roads, not unsettled by the damp and mud on the roads, then hyperspeed down the straights, then nice and calm to drive back to the Hotel! Plenty of room for luggage for a weekend away, what an amazing all round useable super car....if i ever moved on, would have to be a 991 Turbo!

Year 1 with the 996 turbo for me. I'm not a car polishing type, but had mine detailed last week and coated with some sort of Gyeon silicone witchcraft that, I am promised, will minimise the amount of faff in keeping it clean, and could not resist taking a few pictures. Doubt it will be as clean again!

Love a Turbo....mine goes to KDS next week for a 2 stage correction / Polish and a coating of some sort of nano coating jiggery-pokery we'll see what it comes out like supposed to assist cleaning for up to 2 years or so.....Only time will tell

Never had cars detailed before, but enough friends have - do it religiously with new purchases - that it persuaded me to give it a go. Having seen the attention to detail (I would now happily recommend Staffordshire Car Care) and enthusiasm that went into the job, let alone the initial results, I am impressed. If the claims about keeping the car clean and protecting the paintwork prove good, I would likely join the ranks of those who do this as a matter of course.

ETA this is a level of OCD you cannot but admire: https://www.facebook.com/Staffordshirecarcare/vide...

That will certainly not lack driver involvement.
