I've been making enquiries about getting some (what looks like) Reflex Purple paint for my 2000 Mk1 Tuscan. Other threads on this site have been very useful but my body code (D28064) has not been listed on any of them. I even made enquiries with Surface and Design, who even tried to match the VIN, did not recognise the body code either.

Does body code D28064 ring any bells with anyone?

After a few false starts, I have finally discovered (with the help of a few friends) the correct colour, and sourced some paint for my Tuscan. I thought I'd cracked it as I was able to obtain the original handbook which states the paint colour is Cascade Blue. We were able to obtain samples of Cascade Blue from my sprayer's paint supplier and also from Surface Design, but this was nowhere near.

After a discussion with Richard Hoyland from International Colours, he was convinced that, what the TVR dealers call Cascade Blue (and subsequently put in the manual) is, in fact, Cascade Violet. He was so convinced that if I purchased a sample and it wasn't a perfect match, he would give me a full refund. Nothing to lose I ordered 250ml at £400 per litre (expensive stuff but other people had told me it would be £700 per litre for flip paint).

My sprayer called me to say that the paint had arrived but, after spraying a sampler it was not the right colour - this paint only went from blue to purple whereas my car goes from blue to purple to gold. Slightly disheartened, I took my Tuscan to his workshop where (surprise to us all) in the natural sunlight the colour change went all the way to gold - it seemed a perfect match.

Another leap of faith, I ordered another 500ml (what's a couple hundred between friends). Stuart Barnes of Martlesham Body Repairs did a fantastic job of blending in the paint on the rear of the car and I defy anyone to spot the join - Stuart can't find it and he sprayed it! I think you will agree that he has made an excellent job of it.

Thanks to Roy from International Colours and Stuart from Martlesham Body Repairs (Suffolk) for their patience and professionalism.
