I am re trimming my car doing as much as i can and then getting someone else to do seats, console etc.

I need to get that big metal bar out that runs across the dash. I notice there are some bolts (which i cant see just feel) at the back, will the bar just lift out easily if i remove these? Any tips?

I also need to remove the tray/dash thing which runs across the dash as well(curved bit under the pod iykwim) so i can re carpet, I can only see a couple of bolts either end which bolt into the alloy.

I also want to get the plastic/glass screen off the pod as its a bit grubby behind and has come slightly unstuck. Please tell me the whole pod doesn't have to come out frown if so how?

Any tips appreciated before i spend god knows how long undoing things which don't need undoing hehe

you dont need to remove the alloy bar for a retrim!..
here are some pics of my retrim:

1.)Remove the Dashtop (Use a Ratched mit a 10mm wrench Socket)

The Screws are on both sides of the Dashtop (square holes)

2.) To Remove the Dashtray. First thing is to unscrew the Radiopod

3.) Use a Dremel Tool to Cut a little part of the Tray (behind wheel)

now remove the 2 screws on both side of the Dashtray (Aluminium elbow)

jiggle the Dashtray free..now you can do a full retrim!
Sorry for the Bad English..
If you have Questions..Ask!..finished the whole Retrim Job in 1 Weekend with 4 cans of Upholster Spray Glue.

Your English is very good! i understand perfectly!

I managed today to jiggle the little bits free that are either end of the alloy bar so yes your right no need to remove that.

Just got to get the main tray out now smile

Thanks

to remove the whole tray.its my No.1 of worst jobs at my tuscan.
You have to cut that little part over the steering Assembly to pull the whole tray downward. i use a Dremel tool with a flexible shaft...takes over 1 hour to cut that little part...with my face at the shift lights of the Dash to see what im doing..not easy

good luck
