I am actually. Mk1 Tuscan in Estoril Blue, all original, unmodified, unmolested. Literally just had 12k service 30 miles ago done at Taylor TVR who gave the car very clean bill of health.

Love the car, was my brothers before mine, but looking at starting a family so want to free up some cash for family car (eugh).

I am. Green with biscuit (tan) interior, and pretty big history file behind it after previous owner's misadventure with one engine rebuilder before he took it to str8six.

What's your budget? Mine will be on the cheaper end due to mileage.

I don't mean to piss on anyones parade and up until a couple of weeks ago I had exactly the same attitude as you, perfect compression, zero shim adjustment etc. But I then had my half time bearing let go, in itself not neccesarily a full rebuild but theres no guarantee it's not caused damage further in the engine and so a rebuild is now in full swing. This was a 54 plate 3.6 thats always been warmed up properly and treated with kid gloves and serviced bang on time. It can happen to anyone.

Could the chain have been over tensioned...

Yes it can happen to anyone, and anyone in a Rolls Royce or a Mercedes too. This whole rebuild thing with TVR's is fairly tiresome. You could buy a brand new car and the engine could blow tomorrow hence the lemon law in the US.

Luckily a lot of miles in my car have been motorway so probably very good for the car.

Hmm, maybe, maybe not. But no rebuild means no warranty.

That would make me even more keen, just a minor bump, no chassis damage but a lovely new coat of paint - and very expensive paint at that. As long as it being repaired by someone who knows what their doing with fibreglass

Have to agree to an extent. The damage looks bad but cosmetic - as long as it's repaired properly and more importantly the owner is open and honest I can't see the problem.

Exactly - despite my initial despair the damage was only bodywork and was all repaired to top condition by a very good specialist.

I've told anyone who has called about the car exactly what happened.

There are now absolutely no signs that there ever was any damage, everything about the car is perfect.

The car was originally registered in the UK - even if it wasn't I don't think its difficult or expensive to do so.
