The difference in the heat soak into the cabin is really noticeable and for me the major benefit of decatting. You can still get a decent yet quiet(ish) exhaust note if you so wish.
Or go for the Armageddon of the powertechs... thumbup

Love it.

Anyone know how the decat works with the FFF 2 heads?

Furthermore, can anyone rank the available exhaust from quietest to loudest?

Would a de cat and straight through cans affect the performance of a speed six in any way, i remember the lack of back pressure on my chimaera when it was straight through made it a little slower.

Speed means points.

Pops and bangs for free, and huge smiles on overrun, all for removing a bit of metal.

Decat chip is your friend smile

I can still remember the first drive after decatting. It was like the shackles and chains were finally off.
I think my Tuscan was smiling that day too. smile

I got mine from Dom at TVR Power about 4 years ago.
We sleeved the cans first as my Wife was complaining that it was too quiet. smile
I thought it sounded a bit tinny when sleeved and my Wife yet again said "too quiet"!!!
Ended up with the Powetech cans after decanting. Women ay wink

I've got Clive f high flow decats and sleeved cans. I noticed a ringing in my ears so wear ear plugs whilst driving. It is seriously loud. Does about 121 db at 4.5k..

If your going to decat get Clive's decats they are by far the best out there.

If your car is slower after decatting there is something wrong. If you're using purpose made decats and haven't increased the diameter of the exhaust, flow can only increase with no drop in gas velocity. All your doing is removing an obstruction. The engine essentially functions like an air pump.

From memory from someone who analysed the decat chip map it had one cell different.

Yes, mine is but my wife likes it like that wink
I would probably go back to damping rear cans but with a bigger I/D for the deeper sound.

Straight through cans is just right for me, it's pretty bloody loud. pops, bangs, fizzes on demand... makes a great noise. Really don't see the need to de-cat.

Can't tell from memory what decats are installed; need to check. However, the chip is still the original one- would that be the problem? As RMFB pointed out, he has the "decat" chip and car still feels slower than with the cats in...

What else could be wrong?

I bought my tuscan already decatted (longer header pipes) but with the standard rear cans, it was not a great sound until well on the throttle tbh, sounded muffled and puffy. So I sleeved the rear cans and OMG it sounds beautiful. nice and burbly at low revs but crazy when nailing the throttle. best mod so far and cost me 1 tenner and 1 hour in my lunch break smile
