Our 322/330's no one has warped a set yet, two piece set up is More fragile as they have a big hole in, and that's filled with a soft centre...
Paul,

Although I'm well aware you are an authority when it comes to brakes. I tend to disagree... on the matter of stronger an so perhaps better discs.

Today I spent a big part of the day looking into replacing the front discs of my Tuscan. Reading and looking at all kinds of information regarding solid brake discs and 2-piece discs. Not that as of now I'm a expert but this is what if have learned:

Everywhere I read that a 2-piece disc copes much better with heat cycles, they also save a considerally amount of unsprung weight and the only downside is that they are a bit more expensive.

My strategy for my Tuscan is replacing by upgrading, so to me a 2-piece disc looks as a good improvement! If you say the extra investment is a waste of money I gladly give it some second thought.

Looking forward hearing from you.

Unsprung weight yes, but really?? less heat transfer to wheel bearings was a big thing when these appeared, but we have whopping Jeep units, so this is not an issue. Unless your planning endurance racing.
But for what we are doing a good one piece is more robust, I supply many in the trade, and the consensus is that the two piece items sooner or later give grief, I have supplied a few 330's to retro fit two piece discs now.
You can google the hell out of it, but this has been the real world experience.
Ask a couple of the main stream indies, I can only advise with the facts of a few years in the TVR disc game..

When we're talking whopping 322 or 330 mm discs on a car that weights barely over a tonne and hasn't got the best reputation for keeping all four wheels firmly on the ground on todays sh*te roads to begin with, unsprung weight becomes fairly critical (OK, you'd also do well to ditch those dreadful Spiders for SP12s which are 3 kg a corner lighter, but alas most like the way the Spiders look rather too much, and I kind of agree with them on that point although I like the look of SP12s too). It's not the trivial matter people seem to think it is.

I don't see many racing cars on single piece cast items, either. wink

The only reason that TVR stopped using the 2-piece (and NLA) AP Racing discs on the Cerbera 4.5 and Tuscan RR is simply cost (and probably they hadn't paid their invoices for a while, either...). I'm glad that Tarox stepped into the breach now and the quality of their product (particularly heat treatment and surface finishing) is on a completely different level from most aftermarket discs. I have yet to experience problems with any of their discs, they're absolutely bullet proof.

As my 6600 Callipers are being fitted in my December Service Today I ordered my 2 piece 350x30 discs (for 55mm radial pad depth). Gone curved veins taken right to the edge (keeps air pressure consistent).

Brummie Soon as the APpads that came with end i'll be on to you for the CL fix

Wouldn't mind seeing pics, my 4.5 rr has original two piece that will require replacing next service. I don't want single piece discs....

Discs arrived mate and wow! Haven't fully unwrapped so no pics yet they are absolutely gigantic really hoping they actually fit under the 18" SP12s.

Not sure how the Hi Spec 360s do lol

You will need the CP6600 calipers too can't wait to have them fitted at Decembers service along with a battery isolator... I'm sure I heard my ctek cry for a rest after 2yrs constant power.

The extended groove is a no brainer

Can anyone clarify do the cp6600 calipers bolt directly to the later sagaris and tuscan uprights (no need for bracket to make correct offset)?

Edited to answer my own they do! I'll soon be picking up my 350x30s on the Cerbera smile
