Hi Guys

Unfortunately I¡¦m gona have to sell the Tuscan (in about a months time, want to at least drive it in some good whether) due to having to move¡K not had it long and have not had chance to really use it

I know this is a tricky question, but what would you put for an asking price:-

W reg, Halcadon blue, original paint work with only a few marks (chips).
Full power engine rebuild
New clutch and light weight flywheel , pus new slave and master cylinder
New set of carpets, not fitted (from D and D)
New Momo steering wheel, not fitted
Diff bushes done
And more receipts that you could shake a stick at
Oh and all the electrics work, one advantage of being an electronics engineer ļ

Would have new Mot and Service

Would 15K seem about right?

Hi

What's the mileage? And when was the rebuild?

15k seems quite cheap but I guess we need to know mileage first

Do you have the pinouts for the plug on the dash plug

Car sounds cheap

Mileage, I will have to check as the speedo was replace, currently it shows 18K, so I think the total mileage is approx. 35K.

The engine has about 15K on it since the rebuild (but could be less), but again I need to check the docs/receipts.

However, if you think 15Ks ok (lowish) then I can hopefully sell it pretty quickly in about a month

I dont have the specific wiring diagram, but I'm sure they're on the net. Do you have specific issues?

However, I can see that someone has used scottch blocks on the wiring, horrid things :-)

yep you might even find you can sell to a dealer for more than that because they'll be selling it for more like 18

Is the reg W681 by any chance?

If so I know the car was up for sale at 13,500 at one point and when I last saw it it wasn't very tidy - certainly not 18k's worth. A very honest car but one that did need some money throwing at it.

Yes that¡¦s the one. I would be interested in where you thought it lacked. To me it was the interior and most of that has now been re-trimmed. I was not going to bother fitting the carpets and steering wheel and just sell the parts with the car but maybe it will be worth doing it anyway. Hey at least it won¡¦t be light blue on the inside anymore but each to your own ƒº

With respects to the paint work and engine bay for its age and the fact it¡¦s never been re-sprayed I thought it was very good, but again I¡¦d appreciate your input as I did arrange to have the paintwork detailed, however, now having to sell it I¡¦m a bit sour grapes so did not bother!

With the power rebuild, clutch, and being an honest car 15k+ sounds like a fair price. Mines a 2000 with the same and i would value it around 15k, not that its for sale smile

The car seemed quite honest, but there were a few issues certainly.

The whole interior, esp. the dashboard and wheel needed replacing although by the sounds of it you've got on top of that already.

Also, the headlining seemed like there had been water ingress in the car too which, although it might not be a current issue, obviously doesn't look good.

The front of the car also is (or was) WAY beyond a detail to sort it, it really needed a proper respray, esp. the pepper pot and service hatch but fortunately Halcyon Atlantis was not an expensive colour to redo.

I remember there was a cable hanging out of the dash for something. The other thing was it was very annoying having to do maths when working out the history, I would really have wanted the speedo to be properly reset to reflect the car's actual mileage. It is very confusing as it is and although it was all kosher and above board, I think some people would have been put off by it.

With those issues sorted, 15K doesn't seem unreasonable, but as it stood when I saw it there were better cars for the cash.

Not many cars about for 15k with power rebuilds, for me would be a shame to pull it out and stick it on fleebay,
