Tuscan mk2 purchase advice
Discussion
Have a look at mytuscan.com. Most of what applies to Mk1s will apply to Mk2s.
Couple of differences between the Mk1s /Mk2. Check you have all the pixels on the baboons botty display. Generally a better bolted together car, so it should feel solid. Make sure the service history is up to snuff and the chassis is clean and tidy.
Other will have more info ...... And should be dropping in to post on this thread soon.
Had mine for 18months. It's a keeper. Love it.
If you are unsure, a reputable TVR service centre will do an inspection.

I really like the Tuscan mark 2 and im considering the S ,any owners
Past or present or anyone"in the know " have any advice or experiences
they are willing to willing to share?
I am a newbie to TVR and recently bought a Tuscan 2s. Sadly I can't compare to the other Tuscan variants. But I've just covered 2500 miles across Europe and it was perfect for the job.Past or present or anyone"in the know " have any advice or experiences

The 2S is arguably the best ever tvr as an all rounder. Sagaris engine, open top driving if you desire and a huge boot! Well it's spcertainly the best for what I needed it for. I managed 29mpg on the trip across France sitting at motorway speeds with the roof off and fully loaded too!
Hi Mark,
I came from a 4.2 Cerbera to a MK2 Tuscan though not an "S",i slightly prefer the rear end design and fared in headlights but do prefer the MK1 dashboard and use of brass far more, that "retro" look is a bit lacking in the MK2 however the car has been fantastic, minor probs as any car would have and I am off to Tuscany in her in Sept. The close ratio gearbox of the "S" would be a big bonus I think...they are very rare so get one quick

Mk2 S is the best car I have driven or owned, I've had a few cars in my time.
Fantastic car with blistering performance and well behaved and normal in traffic. You will never complete a journey without being waved at, smiled at, taken pics of or just chatted too.
The issue is where do you go from an S ? Without spending75k
Pm me if you want a chat, I am around J18 m25

As written above the Mk2 'S' is the best TVR ever made. When I bought mine (one of the last made, 56 plate, some call a Mk3) it was top money, £32k and there was a Reflex Purple Sagaris for £35k. I chose the Tuscan as I do 80+ % of my miles with the roof off and even though the Sagaris is probably worth £55k and mine is worth £42k (STR8SIX's figures, not mine) I'd still rather have had mine regardless.
The Mk2 S is stable at speed, brakes like a mother****** and handles great. It has only had one hiccup in over 4 years (fan wiring corroded and it overheated, covered and paid for by AA Garage cover) and it gets a universally great reception. I've never had a bad word said about it and sometimes even amazes me the reaction it gets - Japanese tourist on Tower Bridge seemed totally unfussed about getting run over by a bus as long as he got a good photo! Or the 3 lads in Hackney who stopped me at a red light to ask "who made it" "was it Italian".
It really is an amazing car and as long as you don't bite easily at every tw@t who's 'mate' owned a TVR which broke down every 100 miles/month/when it rained etc etc then you'll be fine.
Mine has the CR box and when i got that built I also had the 3.91 diff put in. Holy st! Ok i now get 20mpg but my god it is fast. I mean really, really fast!

2006 Mk2/3 Tuscan S the best TVR I have ever owned, if you can find one buy it you will not be disappointed.
Whilst I still love my early mk2, and bought at a good price, I'm regretting not buying the wavey dash one that was up for £30k at fernhurst. At the time it was just too much of a stretch but they are a hidden gem in the TVR world.
The normal mk2 seems to be the last to take a price jump that others have seen in the last 12 months so could be a good time to buy!

Of the 28 wavy dash targas am I right in thinking that only 11ish were in 's' spec? We're in hens teeth territory here for any prospective buyers!
S
I believe that is correct, there was one privately advertised a few weeks back for close to 50K, but that seems to have gone now.S
Or you could look out for the full convertible.
Think about 41 'normal' and 42 S spec between 2005 and 2006.
Loved my Mk1 Targa and proud to own such a rare car in the convertible.
On a side note, normally drive down to Spain in the Tuscan every year with lots of friendly comments and never a door ding.
Used the CLS MB this year due to two more passengers and its taken a hell of a door ding beating
