Light?! I roughly guestimated them at eleventy tons (imperial).

Not a very helpful comment I know, but they weigh less than my original Chimaera seats but a lot more than my S2000 seats.

Thanks Keith, sadly I don't know how much S2000 seats weigh.

I have read the Tuscan seats are tanks though.

EDIT: a quick google shows S2000 seats and brackets weight about 15kg - so we know Tuscan seats weigh more than that!

I'd wager more than 20Kg. They're blinking heavy with all the metalwork!

What are you trying to achieve? A weight saving? What for?

A better place to start would be the wheels which are an Alloy of Lead.

I'm looking at other seat options and wanted to know how much they weigh out on interest.

I don't really want to add weight to the car if possible but the standard seats are so poor a few kg wouldnt be the end of the world.

Interested in what other options you find, the Tuscan seats are pretty poor (not helped by the fact my drivers side bolster is broken).

Is you passenger one ok Richie?
If so just swap the seats over and you've got a fixed bolser again, best of all, the bolter which is broken will now be on the inside of the passenger seat so will be held in place by the trans tunnel!
Such an easy fix if you don't have the time/money to get it fixed and something I never even thought of until Dave the Trimmer told me as I was having mine re-done.

I'm looking at a selection of Porsche seats - there are a few styles that are similar to the rarer Sag seats - just a question of do they fit.

Waiting on some measurements coming back, I understand the transmission tunnel takes a lot of the room in the Tuscan, however to me the seats are really wide so hopefully something will fit and won't look out of place.

That's a good idea, only issue is the seat back adjuster will then be on the wrong side. I guess you can still get to it there though?

I just weighed a Tuscan seat at ~18kg ....including runners. I thinks that's pretty heavy ....I've temporarily replaced it with a 3kg CF seat from ebay (turns out to be a streamline carbon seat) ...It's ok ,but a has relatively high sides , so is a bit tricky getting in and out when the roof is on ....

I'll be fitting a pair of Tillett B5's in the near future ...these are a bit heavier (~7kg) but have lower sides for easy entry / exit ! ..but still very supportive ..

Oh ..and I lost the Spiders a while ago ... ~5kg saving unspring weight / Corner by changing to SP12 / Team Dynamic Pro race 1.2 wheels ...

Do you use the CF seat just for TDs or full time?

Do you use any padding?

I have a pair of CF seats that I'm going to fit this winter then have them skimpily upholstered.

Hi Peter
Only just fitted it ..but the plan was to use all the time ...I currently have no padding ..and it gets a bit hot and sweaty yuck(at least during our weeks UK heat wave ..), but still comfortable. With the 5 point harness and supportive seat it really lets you free to drive driving ...rather than hugging the transmission tunnel and door with your knees ...

When i fit the Tilletts, I'm planning to have them trimmed (and padded) in line with a new interior ...but I need to save my pennies for this ..

They made their name in Kart seats , but now have a range of Car seats : The B5's tend to be popular with Lotus exige , caterfields etc ...
