This blue 2002 Tuscan has been for sale in the Essex/ Herts area with 2 different garages for the last 6 months. Car looks great and seems cheap at £15,000. Does anyone on here know anything about this Tuscan.

Hi Phil,

Do you fancy a Tuscan for the fleet?

I went to view it a couple of month back and won't go near it. It's had a RND rebuild about 2k ago and smoked heavily. The guy selling it started her up and rev'd the nuts off of it from cold. It had been left I a cold damp barn for about a year and was covered in mould. This may have been cleaned off but the dampness would have caused damage to the electrics I'm sure.

Obviously all IMHO and I'm no expert

Hi Nordic

Considering trading in my chimera for a Tuscan or cerbera. This particular Tuscan is for sale at Classic Carriages in Waltham Abbey.

Hi Milky400

Thanks for the info, it has saved me a trip. Probably best to buy from an established tvr specialist even if the prices are a bit dearer.

Are some people really that stupid?

From what you say, the Tuscan has had a very recent (and presumably very expensive) engine rebuild, only for the owner to completely abuse it, mechanically while trying to sell it!

Just, WTF!

The guy that had it when I went to look at it dealt in high end lease cars. He took it in as a trade in against an SL55 from memory. Instead of banging the tuscan straight back out or to auction, he wanted to keep it for some summer fun... It sat in his barn for 12-18 months and was a mess when I went to see it.

The rebuild was done by previous owner prior to trading it in, does make you wonder......

When he started it up i winced as he rev'd and rev'd even after telling him it's not a good idea to do that, he still continued.... I guess this is why many are needing rebuilds as people either didn't know or didn't listen to advise given.

Saying that even my dirty diesel doesn't get abused like that when cold.

Just to reiterate what Milky said, I went to look at it as well and whilst it looks fine in the add photo's, in the flesh it really is quite rough. I wouldn't bother.

In fact I'd probably say it was the roughest one I looked at

Hi Phil, nope never saw the one at Choices. I've seen 2 or 3 that are still on the market and you could do worse than checking out the one at Bespok,e that was a nice clean one with good history.
PM me or give me a buzz tomorrow about a few others that are still around with my thoughts- Bear in mind though I'm no expert, more common sense and hunch feelings really and also talking to the folks on here, they really couldn't be more helpful

And Mark, in answer to your question.. It's going great and I bloody love it,can't get enough of it. I had it serviced and they gave it a clean bill of health which made me feel better. How's married life treating you then ?
