Late-ish 2002 Tuscan, Cat C, not been on the road since 2008, chocked on a brand new chassis without much regard for details like brake lines by our favourite breakers, body has been repaired and modified to sport a T4xxR light set up with Tuscan 2-alike grille and winglets, and Tuscan 2 rear lights. Came with T2S bootlid in raw glass fibre.

Bought with a friend as a project car for Speed Eight Performance, will undergo ground-up rebuild/upgrade to our own 'demo' spec. smile Will try and regularly update here as well as on my company FB page. smile

Those wheels are nice, bit like a Fiat Coupe biggrin

Was this from TVRGlenn then?

That's three Nissan 300 ZX wheels on there, and a 15" Toyota wheel of some description, as the guy I bought it from wanted the 18" Spiders, in which I had no interest... Great bloke, has a shot blasting and coating factory oop north, occasionally drives in the TVR Challenge series and had all sorts of cars ranging from Dub scene stuff to a big power 300 ZX hiding under covers...

He bought the Tuscan from our well known 'easy repair, we can repair up to paint stage for £499' breaker blokeys who didn't even had it VIC checked as they said it was, so no V5C... Ah well, just another thing to sort then...

Apart from that, it's a good base for us to work from a we'd had done a body-off and mechanicals rebuild regardless. smile

Yes, the four litre lump that it was born with - probably untouched from new as the odo was showing just 16,xxx miles so all the bad bits from the early days will still be in it.

Still working out a suitable engine spec. Apart from drastically reducing the probability of it digesting its internals, I want ultimate response and driveability but not big power and torque too far from what it's endowed with originally as I will in all probability set it up on 16" wheels with the std 225/55 rubber. smile

Will do when I get the chance - car is in my mate's workshop (independent workshop and TVR specialist) for now...

I do like the front light set up much better without the indicators in the tops of the wings, so that will stay. smile

Cheers for the picture, I do like the two lamp set up of the MK2's but also the open style with no perspex covers. I presume your indicators will be mounted lower down in the grill?

Indeed, there's a Tuscan 2/T4xxR style grille with the car which includes the indicators smile

I like this headlamp set up better than the Mk1 style with the high indicators and the Mk2 with the covers, too, which is a bonus. smile

It's been a long time, we shouldn't have left you...

Anyway, progress has been on and off over the past three and a bit years.

Chassis stripped down, assorted knocks and scrapes in the still relatively fresh powdercoat treated with zinc spray and several layers of cream white paint (spray cans from our local Action market turned out to provide a perfect match!), seven wishbones stripped and refurned, one replaced. Diff was sent out for fitting Quaife innards that turned out not to fit (and Quaife themselves are completely stumped what application the one I got would be for - possibly it's a GKN 'Quaife' diff?), came back rebuilt which we didn't ask for (the whole car only has 16,400 miles on it). Diff casing, ARBs, rear droplink rods stripped and painted.

New suspension parts

Pedal box stripped and rebuilt. New late-style curved brake and clutch pedals fitted.

T2-style grill blended in with bodywork

Body repairs looked pretty good on the outside, the inside, however... Many hours of work in here to get it all into acceptable shape.

Complete engine stripdown. Head's been at Carrec Technocenter for rebuild with new valve guides, RND GT-HO cams, valve springs and finger followers and miscellaneous bits and bobs.. Expect it to return in the next week or two.

315 mm Tarox discs on AP Racing/Reyland bells to fit inside 16" Spider wheels. Front uprights replaced with C 0936/0937 and J0733 brackets to allow fitment of AP CP5200 calipers (151 mm centres). Still need an additional spacer.

More to come...

Looks good.

Did you have the RND parts in stock or have you bought them recently?

Bought them a fairly long time ago. Apparently, the long conrods to go with our 4.1 litre pistons are on their way...
