Having thoughts of a change, I've owned my 'vert for 8 years now and loved every minute and whilst it would be like loosing a member of the family I'm thinking it may be time for a switch.

Looking through the classifieds, there are only 2 'verts for sale at the moment so it's difficult to get a feel for the market at the moment especially given that it's coming to the end of the TVR season and both the cars for sale have less miles than mine.

Here it is:-

It's a bit 'crystal ball' but have prices peaked, should I wait until the spring, should I keep it for another few years, or should I just keep it forever?

Help!

I have been looking around but nothing really comes close.
Ferrari 430 F1 maybe?
I think they will continue to rise in value by the way the dealers are presenting them.
Keep it and buy another car to join it.

It looks immaculate. beer
Not sure what to suggest, but whatever you decide, it has to be your decision.
I can't think of a car within a sensible budget to replace it with, maybe a Gallardo? Mine is a keeper, despite now having a 5 month old son, he can inherit it one day; assuming he wants it and that petrol is still in plentiful supply biggrin

Thanks guys,

Part of the problem is that it is such a lovely thing to own and I can't think what to replace it with, if indeed I do at all. It's not been used that much this year and there is just too little time and too many potential toys!

Argh!

Wrong time of teh year Paul I'd at least hang on till Spring and bear in mind this car is rarer than a Sagaris and in my book a better buy. (IMHO of course)

I like the colour.

Definately the wrong time of year to sell a 'very clean' or 'dry miles only' convertible. Unless the person is going to trailer it away then it'll look terrible after the drive to the new home if there's rain about.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the convertible Tuscan - well that's not right, I prefer the Targa. 95% of the experience can be had with the Targa and you get 50% more practicality. That said, TVR's sell on condition as well as model so a good, clean model is always going to command a good price.

So many people have sold TVRs only to come back because they can't find the same 'fizz' in another car. With that in mind I would choose what car you want to replace it with first, then sell the car, then find the 'right' version of the replacement car.

Hi Paul
I had your dilemma a month ago,had mine for 5 years and was ready to part with her
You can't replace these cars with anything at there value even now which is why they are
Still selling.
I sold mine with bespoke, excellent service and a good return, they are very fair.
Mine sold in a day,for what I asked for.
I have now got a maserati 4200,I bought this so I had something to play with and they are
The bargain of the year to what you get and are just as fast a the tuscan in real terms and not
On track.i do agree the Tuscans will not go up much more in value.
If you want the figures Paul just pm me or e-mail.
Thanks Mark

Sorry, just had to correct that for you David laugh

As for 'what replacement', some funds and space would go into my 3000m rebuild with the remainder towards a T350t or Tamora, or an esprit, or a Merak, or a Pantera, or a Stratos replica, or a GT40 replica, or Nobel, or.... just something different!

Those CSi / CSL are very nice indeed David. As for the Pantera, a good friend of mine has one and it's pure theatre. Loud, fast, dramatic to look at, and general just bloomin lovely, unfortunately out of my budget.

Oh and it's for sale at the moment too:-

I would say yours would sell quickly, as long as you are not stupid on price, the RG is over priced for the colour combination hence the length of time it's been for sale, the black one is repaired one so many will be put off paying top price due to this.

No harm in advertising now as it would be free on here and see what happens.

Thinking on this whilst in the garage last night, I may do some little cosmetic jobs on it over the winter and put some feelers out in the New Year. The interior has never been touched and whilst there is no wear on the leather, the pumpkin coloured alcantera has lost its sparkle on the door cards and hoop, and some new mats also. Maybe a front-end paint and get the wheels refurbished etc at which point I may as well just keep it....

Confused!

Great looking car, and rare too. These things are of course niche though so have a limited market. No harm in putting it up now at a strong price that you'd be willing to let it go at. You'd just need to qualify out timewasters smile

I don't see the point of swapping to a Tamora as it'll be [essentially] the same but a bit slower. Plus you may end up with Pandora's Box of a car.

I think I recognise that Pantera - I think I saw it parked up (with another two) in a small french town on the way to LM a [good] few years back. There can't be that many red ones!

I'd struggle to think of a replacement for Tamy (or Samy for that matter). Perhaps an R8 V10 convertable but it would feel a bit 'numb' at legal speeds - in comparrison of the 'theatre' or 'pantomine' that is driving a TVR. I did consider a GTR but again need to be shifting to get some 'feel'.

It's such a nice looking Tuscan, I'd stick with it. Afterall, if you don't have time for it now how will you have time for a replacement?

Looks a really nice example.
I love the rarity of these cars. What would you buy that is so exclusive ?

When I bought my convert, there was an orange one also up for sale.
Still regret not buying both. They were both going for 24,000 quid smile
Only chose the one I have as it was a 2006 and the other was 2005. Also in Bentley Sapphire Blue I've been planning a respray since I bought her.
At the moment my head is stuck on getting a Sag and giving the Convert its long awaited respray and interior refurb.

Spoke to Tony at HHC today and we're going to look at some of those cosmetic jobs as well as some new gas struts for the boot lid.

Maybe some little cosmetic tweaks will help me love it again scratchchin

Going with standard struts Keith, don't want to spoil her biggrin

Seriously, if funds were available I'd have a Sag like a shot, alas that's not going to happen confused
